  7. Other pictures of IWB U I mentioned uploading... Front Side Front. Back Side.. The holster covers the Laser on Crimson Trace Grips to protect if on my Sig 226. Dunno if it will on others because that is the only one I have a Laser on. It rides at a 20 deg angle and sits vertical when sitting. I can draw from any position with it and there isn't any discomfort with it in the least for me.

  11. IWB comfort depends I guess. I always wear IWB for the most part and never a subcompact. Never have an issue with it being uncomfortable. Might have to do with doing construction for so many years and wearing a split tool belt with tools on one side and screws in a four pocket pouch on the other side, dunno... But I do know I can carry a full size CZ SP01 with 20 rounds of 9mm Gold Dot in it and it doesn't bother me a bit. Gun Site - Clint Smith : "Gun isn't supposed to be comfortable it is supposed to be comforting" , "It's a big Gun when I put it on and it's a Big gun when I pull it out" pretty much says it all to me...
  12. Most cuff holsters un-snap when the person grabs the cuff and twists it while pulling up. Another thing you might consider trying is the magnetic clasps they use on Purses.
  13. as katass said, glue it, punch it, stitch it... Looks like it is turning out nice. I've an old Bianchi for a Woodmans, the strap is actually something I will be trying out. the top leather has a slot cut in it and the strap end is pulled between the top and bottom layers and sewn in place. it is long enough to reach over the back of the frame and snaps to a short flap on the back fed through and sewn in place. I've bastardized the design for a couple of Ruger 22/45's and it worked out well. Meant to put it on put it on one I did for a 44 automag but got ahead of myself and had to skip it.
  14. Look great Peter. the last one, does the front snap so you can pull if forward when pulling it to clear the swell in the blade? I like the first and last the most.
  15. Yeah it looks like a accident waiting to happen. Or a gun grab offering... I could see that working out in a Saddle Bag as a mounted holster. You flip the flap up and reach in trigger it open and you've got the weapon in hand. Keeps it from being buried under whatever else is in the Saddle Bag.
  16. I can send you the pattern for this holster if you like. It will fit any Duty size, Compact and Full size semi-auto other than the 1911... All it is really is a wrap around with reinforced throat with snap straps. Works real well and the flap hanging off the rear catches the bottom side of the belt so the holster stays put when you make a draw. I carry a G17, G19, G23, HK 45, FN 40, Sig 226, Sig 229 and CZ's in it as I feel like doing. I'll post a better picture of a Natural finished one which shows the holster allot better later today. I just finished a few up for some PoPo's I shoot with regularly. Cross draw for a 696-4 7 shot 357 also. I probably should post more of what I do, but eh... Not mush I think is worth to hard drive space because it isn't unusual enough.

Fit whatever semiauto you stick in it excluding 1911 and Sub Compacts.

  18. Not a thing wrong with a SOB... Personal Protection is a personal thing and that is how he wants to carry and Josh is willing to make it, all is good. I carry SOB, Cross Draw, IWB and at times in a Belt Slot holsters, practice with all of them and never have an issue with any of them. Better than carrying Mexican, which I do at times...
  19. very nice looking and well worth the cost and your time in making it.
  20. That is a sweet Rig. Your customer will love it for sure. I was looking at the John Wayne "Big Jake" Rig in a magazine just last night and your rig is just about as spot on as can be from the looks of it. I'm playing around with the Cowboy rigs now. Hope to get to this level in time, very nice....
  21. Nobody has mentioned anything about the main reason I feel a trigger should be covered. In a situation where someone makes a gun grab with a 1911 which is carried cocked and locked with an exposed trigger, they probability of the person being shot has jumped leaps and bounds. Cover the trigger and even if they get a hand on the grip safety and happen to disengage the thumb safety they can not get a finger on the trigger.... just my opinion
  22. Yes the 229, 239, 238,220 are all common carry weapons. I carry a 226 Elite C/T in a IWB design which covers the Laser to protect it. CZ is another which is becoming very common, also KelTec PF9, LCP, P3AT and the 5 shot snubs like the S&W J Frame. I'm also a Firearms Instructor and I actually see the J Frames, Sub Compact Glocks and S&W M&P's mostly now though in my CCW classes.
  23. Over all it's a good first.. You have the distance between where the Grip and Frame come together fine. There is plenty of room to get a solid grip on your weapon as you pull from the holster. It also look like there is plenty of room for the front sight to clear the bottom upon drawing the weapon. It's definitely a functional Holster. Apply what people point out and suggest to you and you'll do fine.
  24. I use Horse Hide to line belt for a couple of reasons based in personal preference. 1. Down here in Florida with the Humidity it stands up to body sweat very well and will not stretch out as much over time. 2, It stiffens the belt better when hanging a Full Size firearm off of it, less twist.... Holsters I use 2/3 oz Vegtan to line with the flesh side in and sanded so it has a slight Felt feel to it. Then I rub in some KG Leather Treatment which makes it slick like Kydex, but does not remove the plush feel. I do dye the inside with a light coat before on most holsters also.
