  1. I've run into it where the weapon is so tight in the holster you have to seriously pull it out over a few minutes of tugging. When this has happened I generally dampen it again after wet forming, let it almost dry and then pull it out and push it back in with a slight twisting pressure. It stretched it out to the point it draws with ease. Then I hit the inside with Tan Kote let it dry and do it again. I have not had any issues with them after doing that. Unless of course you mean it is so tight you can not get the weapon in at all..?
  2. having a new Cold Rolled Steel Rag Gear cut for aluminum cast Boss. Here is hoping it works so others can do such an upgrade.

    1. TwinOaks

      TwinOaks

bad idea. Instead of the rack gear stripping, you'll end up punching a hole in the cast body.

  3. Took my Boss apart today and gave the Rag Gear to a friend at a Machine Shop. He is cutting out both pieces that make up the gear out of cold rolled steel on a flat bed industrial laser tonight. hope it works, might have some good upgrades for the Aluminum Boss is it does.

  4. I've owned 6 CZ's and 3 at this point in time. That is a very nice looking holster and looks to add to the Pistol it self. As far as the sweat shield goes, it is not too slim, I'd say it is about perfect so you can get a correct grip with your thumb down the side without getting the shield between the gun and thumb effectively locking it into the holster. Very nice, wondering about the stitch line at the trigger guard also...?
  5. Sorry to read that about your lungs, thats a scary thing no matter what the cause is. Whatever you do, take care of your self, Breathing is kinda important for most things. I like your Leather and I'd bet the Suspension, Electronics, Hydraulics work was fun and a blast when you got to see your work in actions. Leathers a good choice imo for you because of being able to be creative, spend the time on the detail and knowing your work is appreciated. I think that is probably what draws many of us to it....
  6. See all those tools from previous incarnations were not a waste after all ! makes my wife cross eyed when she hears that.
  7. I would assume that the length of the Dust cover would make the difference. From the front of the Trigger Guard to the Face of the Dust Cover would be the issue after boning wouldn't it? http://ezine.m1911.org/SAemp.htm
  8. They really look great . You might consider doing them with a body shield to keep sweat off the weapon also. The acids in human sweat can play hell on the finish and the metal, my brothers Sig 230 carried IWB without the shield ended up getting a some rust on the grip screws and the rear sight, no pitting, almost like a dust.
  9. Yeah I see how the rail is deeper on the Taurus. The relief cut in front of the strap wouldn't make a difference, but missing the depth would for sure. Colt seems to have gone goofy with theirs also... The Taurus almost looks like a copy with minor changes of a S&W E Model Rail Gun http://www.smith-wes...08409_01_md.jpg
  10. Well that sucks about the rails, I'll have to lay Ed's next to Tommys and check it out. They look identical, actual weapons.
  11. I like the way Rayban did it if using a strap type attachment for sure. Using the two gives you the ability to run the belt through one and then through a belt loop and then the other keeping it from slipping around out of place.
  12. Looked at it again and yes it is underwear... Ok, not photoshoped, just a braindead personal choice on his part...
  13. I like the Kiwi products. Using the Conditioner, Saddle Soap and Waxes. I'll have to look into the leather stretch solution. I was down at the Western Store ( actual name ) and asked about it and he told me it was for Boots only. Then again they sell boots, hats and cloths only. So stands to reason he wouldn't know what use it would be for boning I guess...
  14. Rings Blue Gun 1911 with Rail is the same gun pretty much. The model, rail or no rail, hammer down or cocked and locked ar the only difference between dummy 1911's. Unless it is something custom like an STI or some such.
  15. Heck I am still wondering who wears Jeans under a pair of what looks to be 5:11 or what ever brand Tactical Pants. I wear them and I don't put jeans under them for any reason...
  16. Thank you Paul, between your instruction and Art's along with all the others I think a few of us have cut back on wasted attempts at gluing for sure. Got to love this place for sure..
  17. Thank you Art, just got a Quart in and have never used it. Went and picked it up after reading your mention of it. I like Leather Weld but it is as creamy as Elmer's and it a pain in the but at time...
  18. Very sweet! I really like those and I am betting there are many people who would love a set..
  19. Having a line to pick up to odder weapons in blue guns is going to be a big help to anyone. I've book marked your site to keep handy for anyone who asks on line. I'm lucking in that I work at a range and I also have friends who design firearms and also work in other parts of the industry. Besides, saving $5.00 is not always the best way to go when considering supporting start ups and the economy...
  20. Should the Masters be applied on both sides and let sit until tacky before putting it together?
  21. I tried it and liked it well enough, but when I put it out in the sun (live in Tampa Bay Florida) heat and harden, it came out like I had put it in a Microwave! Kinda like a piece of bacon.. ack...
