Distributor For Ring's Blue Guns - One Time Offer
Reaper replied to RMB Custom Leather's topic in Old/Sold
Not the shipping me thinks, the price of the guns goes up after the first order if I am remembering correctly... I checked into being a supplier here is Saint Petersburg Florida, but found I can buy them locally from SRT for $29.00 on any hand gun, if not less. Also I get them from friends that own gun shops, Crimson Trace uses the blue guns on their demo displays so when they get new displays they give me the old ones. Although they keep the display grips sad to day, hehe. -
True, I did trade a CZ RAMI 40 to get a complete Singer 29k58 Patcher, but I need to get some holsters out to get the money to put it in the shop for a complete cleaning, possible parts changes and tuning. I'm also thinking of putting a reduction setup and digital motor on it. Or I will just get the work done on it and sell it with all the lasts that I got with it. Dunno, but with Open Carry being passed and waiting for Gov Scott to sign (wonder if his claim he would sign it was another lie) there is going to be a need for leather retention holsters here in Florida.

Thank you for the info Lobo, I have been thinking about checking with a couple of different friends with Job Shops which do contract machining. One has an industrial lazer which can cut the bar with teeth out in a couple of passes out of steel. Another has a Bridgeport I have been given the ok the use anytime I like. But I'll have to wait a bit for that.

Pro Stitching Groover Set
Reaper replied to Reaper's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Tandy has them on sale for $19.99 right now... -
dunno, but it looks like one heck of a machine.... I am betting if you were to do a google search on one of the complete part numbers you would have a good chance of tracking all kinds of information down for it.

hehehe,,, I just noticed that.. oops nope, I had a liver transplant so no drinking for me at all... *sigh* US Blood supply was a gift that kept giving in 1984... blerk.. Thank you Monica and I think I really will, just finished setting it up and trying it out on some scrap. Have to set the tension so the stitch crosses up a little on the bottom, Other than that its great. Here I was telling myself hand sewing this and hand sewing that as reasons not to get a machine... glad I caught on. lol

The door bell rang today and there were 4 boxes on my door step. Three of them contained a used Tippmann Boss that I purchased from Gary in Oklahoma for a grand even #277 spool, chisel point needles, roller guide, flat table attachment, all the feet and stand. Garu paid shipping, oh and all the original things including the boxes, booklet (instructions), video, etc/ Thank you Gary! Now I need to play for a bit with it. I did notice the 277 thread is something I will step up in size by at least one if not two, other than that all is fantastic! This should be fun.

Blackjack Question
Reaper replied to usmc0341's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
5:11 still sells lead shot knuckle gloves. I was playing around with one of the guys who has a pair and he hit another of our friends behind the ear as he walked past us. Actually dropped him to his knees and he really didn't hit him that hard. I do know that it is as mentioned above, in some places it is against the law to even make them let alone sell them. Kind of like Armor Piercing Ammo, here in Florida it is against the law to Make, Sell, Possess any as a Civilian. -
Pro Stitching Groover Set

You could actually make an extended guide for it adding to the possible uses... Using it is a breeze, but make sure you have a flat surface your working on. I tired it on my block of cutting board and the edge of the guide followed a groove in the wood.. ACK... You set the edge of the guide up against your piece after setting the depth you want to cut the groove and pull it around, Doing outer double stitch lines is nice and the lines stay at the same distance apart all along the stitch lines. -
Pancake With Snap Strap
Reaper replied to Reaper's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I see what you mean Dwight, I was actually going to cover it with some Horse butt like I did the the opposite side so it would not scratch up the fire arm. I'll have to try and use the posts on both parts of the snap for sure. Thank you for the input. -
Pancake With Snap Strap

Have to look into the reinforcement for sure. I like the look of the raw hide, I tired .030 Kydex and didn't like it or the metal. nice looking holster you did there btw. -
Leather Weld works very well here in the heat of Florida. I leave a holstered firearm in my Suburban which is all Black including all the windows but the font doors and windshield. It gets so hot inside it is hard to breath at times when you first get in it. http://eleathersupply.com/adhesives.shtml

Just started using mine that came in yesterday. It has many possibilities and for $19.99 on sale right now, it will pay for itself in the quality improvement it helps provide...

Trying Out Airbrush And New Pattern
Reaper replied to cjcinin317's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Looks very nice... The one thing I would try to do is get the stiching up the sides of the mag a little closer to it. I know that from shooting IPSC and doing tactical training that there tends to be some real torque by some trying to get a mag out to reload. With it being that far away at the bottom, the top of the mag pouch will work like a pivot point so the bottom of the mag will be moving back and forth. Over time it could cause it to stretch and deform the molding a little too much. Looking good for sure... -
Playing with some ideas on a pancake with retention. It works well, tried it out at a local IPSC match though I'm going to relieve the rake of the weapon a little... I messed up with stabbing some of the stitch line so that it is too close to the edge on one of the belt tabs, also going to re-stitch it with heavy thread after I glue it.

I'm betting off hand that it will be w winner takinf into consideration your quality of work and eye for attaining perfection... Not stroking you at all, I mean it. -
I can see the leather doing that if you take into consideration the amount of gun oil, burnt powder, sweat that shows on the holster. All those things and him stuffing it into the rig without looking over a period of time would lend to it warping as it did. I bet his nick name will be Barny Fife after that.... One bullet and not allowed to load it in his weapon...

What Thread Size For Holsters
Reaper replied to NC Holster Maker's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Sorry I misspoke actually that is a 1/8 inch cord and I did state it wrong, it is 3/32 that I was speaking of. The cord in that holster is from a 12 strand cord made up of three set of three lines wrapped around each other making up three cords in and of themselves, wrapped around each other... We used it for Concrete Form layout with a string level when we did not have a laser with us. I do know that the largest I have held in my hand is 138 and that seems way to thin to be of any use with belts or holsters. What is the Dia of 277, 346 and 415?
