  8. You are welcome! Yeah, I agree about the things I haven't seen before. I was also looking at their Leather Crafting items, in the Crafting section, mister art leather craft and there might even be some "Tandy" items that cost less there, that is if you are not a member of Tandy... I looked at your gallery and you're very talented. I am so new to this, I am just happy to be able to share a little of what I have learned. I just love this place (leatherworker.net)
  9. Ken Thanks for your kind remarks and I'd love to see more of your work. I hope you have pictures of your guitar straps. You are lucky to be a musician I just love old country and bluegrass. I never was able to pick it up, but I am an avid listener! I have a lot of friends that play music and There is nothin better than watchin and listenin' to that kind of music - unless you can play an instrument yourself, of course! I Really like your style & finish and you have given me incentive to work on my first purse. But, If I change my mind...... heheh, I will definitely let you know. BTW - I really like your new "caveman" Pic... I suppose you are taken? The Really Cute ones.... usually are! (not) Heheheh (just kidding of course) Oh, and I know you are right. I also have a cleaning business, and have sold things to some of my customers. I just love to see my leatherwork out and being used. Thanks

  15. Hi there I had this sort of problem happen to me about a week ago and I couldn't figure it out for 2 days... I thought that Leatherworker.net was having technical problems - woopsi, operator error. This post was of no help to me because I couldn't see it, the print on this site only was infinitesimal.... Well I have a mac and I was apparently trying to add a + sign to what ever I was typing and I accidentally hit command + (instead of shift +) which is a short cut to zoom in. I have never noticed that option before... hmmmmmm Well I figured it out by myself and the fix was the other option - for zooming out Command - I Wish all "problems" were that easy to fix
  16. Hi When I started doing leather work I started out making coasters and (Before I got my clicker die press) I used a really neat gizmo that cut leather in perfect circles... much better than I could ever do by hand. I got it at misterart.com LION Ev-R-Round Perfiect Circle cutter Hope this helps
  17. Howdy: I am not sure if this will be of any help for these particular pieces/colors. Although to me it looks like others have mentioned. "The pieces look like they were left natural and the top coat "browned" them slightly." Maybe a combination of top coat or just Neatsfoot oil and years of sun and leather care - saddle soap or some other sort of oil. Something else I thought I'd mention is you can get lots of different shades of color from each different bottle of dye, by diluting it – I just use water. I have some small bottles and measure the water and use a small glass 'eye dropper' to measure the dye with. It is also a good idea to write on a piece of tape on the lid what the measurements are so you can recreate the color. Testing on a scrap piece is also a good idea… When I first started doing leatherwork I made a color sampler for each different color of dye and started out on each piece of leather with a diluted coat at one end and up to full strength at the other end. Antique med brown - Antique Mahogany - Antique saddle tan - Antique tan - Feibings dyes -124 dark brown - Mahogany - Professional oil Dark Brown - and the last one is just Neatsfoot oil. Hope this helps
