  1. Great looking saddle! Will serve your customer well and Roughout will only get better with time. Billy
  2. Clyde, Very nice rig! Your fit and Finish shows great care went into this saddle. Regards Billy
  3. Josh, Your work just keeps getting better! Really nice bags--- Billy
  4. Nice Josh! Really nice welt, all in all nice. I will say though I'm not a fan of the rivet over the d-ring, would rather see it sewn, to me sewn looks more finished like the rest of your Roll's. Buck Rolls have saved me more than I can count with young or spooky horses especially when your near sixty! Billy
  5. Hi Josh! I think you did a really nice saddle! Hand stitching is really challenging ---- Cantle Bindinds will drive a person crazy. Regards Billy
  6. Good job Randy! Regards Billy
  7. Thank you, JHayek and Tom ! You both do some nice work!I. I will keep you posted. The Roughout saddle I think will clean up pretty well, but the Grainside-out saddle is pretty nasty. May end up making a new Rear housing and then doing a dye job. I have a big Dually truck and yesterday day found that mice made a nest in the defrost motor! Like I said mice are as bad as I can remember. Need more cats!!! Thank you Billy
  8. Good looking saddle!! Billy
  9. Hi Tom, The mice actually got to 2 saddles one is a Roughout seat and the other is a Smoothe seat. I live in Colorado and have never seen so many mice. I blame myself for not covering these two saddles like I do my others. Lots of home remadies out there, and a few actual products made for this nasty stuff. Big thing is I don't want to make it look worse than all ready is. Thanks for the reply. Billy
  10. Ron, I found this in the archive threads of this forum. " Bickmoore suede and Nubuck cleaner " might be worth a shot! Billy
  11. Thanks Ron I will do some research, and see what I can find. Thank you for your response. Billy
  12. Came in to the tack room today and found mice had made a home on a saddle seat. (WHAT A MESS!!!) Do any of you folks have suggestions on the best way to get mouse urine/poop stain out of leather? Thanks Billy
  13. Thanks Bob! Do you have any suggestions or things that I could work on for my next saddle?
  14. Last two
  15. Few more pics
  16. Look forward to the finished Head Stall! Billy
  17. Thank you CW Hope all is well with you and your staying busy. Billy
  18. Hey Josh! Thanks for the compliment. This saddle is what some would say as a meat and potatoes saddle - not real fancy. Did my best to give it a nice shape. She wanted no stamping just mostly rough out. I really like the conchos though and the history behind them. Solid Sterling Silver from the 1940s (WOW). The picture is not very clear I had a hard time posting it. Thanks for looking all the best Billy
  19. Hi Randy, Thankyou for taking a look! Yes hand sewing at 7 stitches per inch takes lots of time and patience, those skirts nearly brought me to my knees:) . My better half would come into the shop and say " are you still sewing that same Skirt "? I would have to bite my tongue not to say what was on my mind at the time. the Pricking wheel I used is a old Osborne that I bought at Douglas tools at Sherridan about six years ago. It is stamped as a 7, but once sewn it measures closer to 6 3/8 or 6 1/2 depending on what glasses I'm wearing. Honestly it is hard for me to tell a difference between that tool and a number six wheel I got from Ranch2Arena. I have one more saddle that I promised to hand sew. I own a Artisan 4000r machine- but it has given me trouble since day one! Found a Heavey duty sewing machine mechanic that will come out for repairs. My plan is to get it working correctly and then sell it. Not sure what I will do after that. Regards Billy
  20. Hi Keith, Wish that I could make it to your Seminar, but 4H Fair ends right in the middle of those dates. Hope you might put another one together in the Fall. I sure could use your insight to making a better saddle. Regards Billy
  21. This saddle has a total of 18 concho's that were reclaimed from her Grand Moms Concho's belt from the 1940's. The belt was in pieces and decided to use them for her saddle. Kind of cool the when she rides she will have her Grand Mom with her for luck. Saddle was hand stitched at 7 per inch but when you measure it -- comes out at about 61/2 per inch. Thanks for looking and I welcome critiques helps for the next one. Billy
  22. Hi Bob! Not sure how I missed this post? Wow really nice work! They look great on the horses. You have a great style in your builds- your customers sure look pleased which is what seals the deal. I always enjoy seeing makers show their work gives me a extra boost to improve. Just Finished a saddle, but for some reason I am not able to post on my computer after the forum up grade. Maybe I can figure it out from my sons iPad. Thanks for posting! Regards Billy
  23. Wish I had your talent? I sure understand that life's challenges slow the process. Your wife is lucky! Regards Billy
  24. Wow! For your second saddle that is outstanding. I'm guessing you have leather working experience? Curious how you cut your stirrup leathers slots? Really good looking saddle. Regards Billy
