  1. yeah, what Jimbob said.
  2. Very very nice. love the design and tooling.
  3. What I see is though your new, you have a unique vision on your designs that are fresh. I like seeing that. the rest of the "stuff" will take care of itself with practice. your ahead of the game already I think. just relax, and just create some more.

Purse I did for my mom. she saw the one I made for my sis and wouldnt ask for me to make her one, but harped on how much she adored it, so its a surprise although I suspect she wont be to surprised to see it in the mail.

  8. looks like to me that all those little pro helps, helped to create a beautiful completion. although I personally couldnt sheridan design my way anyplace, the design to me fits really well and tooling lookd good, the edges are really nice as well.

    Wall Decoration

When I started tooling last year, I often thought of doing some projects around the house like wall hangings, cupboard doors, and others. Your post is absolutelty inspiring. Its beautiful work, stunning. Thank you for sharing the details and the wonderful work.
  14. thanks for the link Jack. this thread was a little handy thing for me, I learned a couple of things I hadnt thought of.
  15. I really like the design of this purse. nicely done.
  16. nice holster. After I do a purse for my mother Im going to do one similar for a buddy. hope it turns out as well.
  17. thanx for the reply. I understand what you mean. I have not used paste. they stains or dyes I have used dont leave the background quite as dark as your paste is. so I was not understanding. your post made it clear, thank you for taking the time. Beautiful work, something for me to aspire to.
  18. Really really nice work. I am amazed that your "firsts" sure dont look like firsts. I have a question if you dont mind. I see on the large coaster, (and a bit between the basket weave of the small purse or so it looks to me), the much darker stain in the back ground. when I try this effect, I usually use a small paint brush and paint the darker dye, then after dries, do the whatever colors I am goiing to do. is that what you did for the large coaster? for teh small purse (which I thought was so nice) i see its very dark between the basket weave, now, you didnt paint that. how did you get that effect? that large bag for me, is like you said a little big, but its what the wanted. it is still super clean in its design. all you stuff is. thanks in advance for your time. Bob
  19. interesting, I also bought lacing and stitching for leathercraft at Tandy, seemingly not the same book. and in my book, there are no pages that say to make the holes in the corner larger or that you stitch twice through them. it does for the loop style lacing, but not the round braid. I have only used the method once and it didnt look perfect, but it didnt look incorrect to me (as a noob) either. I just thought, hmmm why wouldnt they tell you that? something I will have to look into before I try it again.
  20. it wont make them rethink anything lol. seen to much of this. Ive had a saying for years and years that seems to be popular these days. it is, what it is. I disagree, this person was never going to be more than a drain on your resources time and effort. you may make some $ but the cost would be to high. Maybe you lose someone else due to word of mouth, but how many of these do want to work with. money isnt everything, and this is one of those exceptions. I thought the same thing when I read it and laughed.
  21. One of the positive things about the tandy stuff, you can buy some of the cheaper smaller kits such as billfolds. A lot of these kits, are really helpful as far instruction and getting to know how to do some of the basic stuff and its pre made so you can learn one thing at a time. for me, it was a great starting point. you can learn as you go and there is a ton of help here. and if you afford one of there box kits that has some of the basic tools already in it. all the better.

A bible cover I did for a friend. it was my first lacing with single loop and its a bit rough but looked fine. also my first figure work which I thought looked nice but muffed the staining a tad. artwork was nice and it fit beautifully.

This is my first holster. I made it for my dad for a Christmas present. He has a Taurus judge, that he just keeps in a drawer. he said he wanted something he wouldnt really carry but just keep it in. but i liked the idea that you could carry or the holster looks like you would carry it. anyway not bad for a first go, lacing good, color good, tooling went well, except I didnt really care how the design went. I had to make it with only dims and pics, I sure hope it fits, if it dont I will be making another,,,,very soon.
