  2. Thanks to everyone on here that answered all my questions about getting the right sewing machine. I purchased the techsew 2700 today and so excited, especially since 90% of the money came from leather working profits. I feel like I'm 10 years old on Christmas Eve!!!!!!
  3. Red thanks for the template it making more sense. So you do not overlap the edges at all just butt them up to each other? So the bottom edge of the TOP piece is flush with the TOP edge of the bottom pieace? I have a wallet that I'm about to assemble and I thank you for your time. What oz leather do you use for the back and interior?
  4. Wallet looks awesome I am struggling with one aspect of the full size wallet and was hoping you would shed some light on it for me. The interior........ Does all 3 layers of the card pockets extend to the edge of the wallet (bottom edge)? When I finish mine the edge looks bulky? Do you you skive the side edges down to solve this or???? Any help would be appreciated Thanks One more question I use 3/4 for the interior and 5/6 for the exterior should I be using thinner leather?
  5. Thanks Chancey I will give that a try.
  6. Bag looks awesome I love the design I'm in the process of doing a single saddle bag for a swing arm frame. I love the lettering and i have a question for you.....Do you cut the letters like normal then add an additional cut outside and back ground between them? or is that just the beveller? The lettering is great!!!

  11. Hello all I need some advise... I want to purchase my first leather sewing machine, I have done some regular sewing back in the 90's and tried to use this machine to sew leather (with 0% success) The machines i'm trying to decide between are both tech-sew the 2700 and GA5-1R. So after reading a ton of posts here this is want I (think) I know... Ga5 will stich heavy leather but has tendency to leave marks on the bottom side of Veg-tan leather? It may not be as good for garment leathers and only uses feed dogs no compond walking foot 2700 will not stich as heavy leather but I do not need to go to 7/16" 3/8" or 24 oz is fine with me Both have the variable speed motor Has compound walking foot Has more presser feet options If anyone has any insight into these would you please share with me?
  12. Thanks for the info. I will try that out. Where do you buy your lace? I can only seem to find 1/8 or 5/16" lace. Thanks
  13. Thats good to know since I was planning to dye a tool bag all black tonight them run the acrylic over it, you saved me a step. The Stipple brush was the short rigid brush? The gal in the GW store said they use it simulate rust. Can't wait until I get home tonight. I'll post the wallet I made when I get home tonight, its still in the camera.

  20. Hello all I have a friend who while in the process of cleaning out an attic he was working in came across a box of old Tandy tools and catalog form the 60's. As I was reading through the catalog there was a ad for a bowling ball bag. I searched everwhere to find the pattern but with no success. So here is my question...Does anyone have this pattern or do you know where I may purchase one? I thought it was pretty cool and now I'm consumed with finding it. Thanks as always to everyone here for all the great information and the willingness to share.
