  2. Really nice, Denster! I'm curious why you didn't take the second stitch line further down on the avenger? Looks as if you had even marked the leather to stitch there.
  3. With all these nice horsehide rigs, you may just coax me into trying some Lobo. Nice shoulder rig!
  4. Matt, I don't have pictures of a lot of the pieces. I'm not sure where to share them but I do have pictures of one particularly wild dual 1911 shoulder holster he made for my grandfather.
  5. I have a lot of Roy Baker rigs, and a lot of custom rigs from Roy. Don't think anything could compare to 'the original.' As my grandfather put it to me: "Everything after the first is just a copy."
  6. I use a woodworkers clamp bolted to my shop table after using whatever glue I choose. Don't clamp it to the point of deforming the leather but I feel it gives the glue a better, more consistent set. It's big enough to clamp almost every holster I make and I use two large boards for anything larger. I have used it to press two pieces of 6/7oz leather into a welt the thickness of one as well, as a flint holder for a sheath as well. Handy tool but be careful of pressure applied.
  7. Very handsome indeed. I would be really happy with how that turned out.
  8. I bought one of Chris's on his "last run," I had used a wooden dowel up to this point. After using this tool I won't touch another given the option.
  9. I like your stitching on that belt a lot, what thread size is that? I'm curious what your lining it with as well. Nice work!
  10. Maybe my feelings/pride a little bit. I'm going to give an antique finish a go on these as a first try so there is chance yet that I'll ruin them anyways. The pistol is a 6" K-frame.
  11. Thanks Josh! Thank you. Thank you Bobby. Surprisingly (for me) it wasn't even a full weekend. I must be getting better? Thank you, I was especially happy with that one. It was an older case I've had from a fellow I worked with for about a month. His wife passed away two weeks ago and he's been having a rough time about it, I thought he was going to cry when I dropped it off yesterday. Probably the most personal project I've done as it turns out the knife was a gift from his late wife and he had forgotten I had it.
  12. Thank you, a like photography I just don't have the best "eye" to capture what I see! That's my favorite as well. I didn't know how wrapping the black around to the stitching would look but I am very pleased with that piece.
  13. I haven't gotten to touch any cow for about two months due to school and couldn't help but over work myself this weekend. I tried a few new ideas and patterns and I got to use my new Cocobolo edge burnisher I've had waiting on me for a good while to try out. Man oh man what a difference that thing makes chucked up in my drill press! As always thoughts/critiques/criticisms are always welcome The XDsc is my least favorite of the group but it was a first try.
  14. We all have our moments, I'm just glad mine didn't cost anything more than time and a little bit in supplies, biggest waste was the time in tooling. Won't make that mistake twice and I got a little payback today. I made a pair mostly out of smite
  15. It was my favorite yet, oh well. I have a 'drying box' that consists of a shelf and a heat gun a good distance apart. I typically rotate them often and got sidetracked tooling another piece. I didn't think it was as bad until I felt the leather and it was brittle. Now I need to actually build a box!
  16. Pay attention, and don't let your stuff get too hot. I had a perfect storm hit this poor thing yesterday and it's hard to quit kicking myself! Hope everyone enjoys a laugh at my expense today
