  1. You only have Adobe Reader, right?? Not professional or anything? You can't save anything with Reader. Make sure your Adobe is up to date first. CutePDF doesn't interact with Adobe at all, so trust me that it didn't mess up your Adobe. Are you trying to reprint them just to experiment? CutePDF is just like any other printer and you can set it to "print" in either landscape or portrait view as well.
  2. Man, after seeing how small your lace holes are in comparison to the rest - I don't envy you when it comes to that point. I gotta stop stressing over "ruining" my stuff with color and just get it done.
  3. No real criticism here - minus jealousy at how far you've come in short time. The only thing I recommend is to ditch the tandy kit patterns when you want to lace something. They're all horribly spaced. There's lots of stuff here on getting your lacing closer together. Other than that you're off to a great start.
  4. Springfield Leather part # 011-43. They're really helpful to speed things up as long as your leather isn't super thirsty. I like yours. Nice and clean. What's it going to be?
  5. Yeah, I'm a network admin at a college. I have a lot more of them to deal with (as well as some of the students) but the problems are all the same.
  6. Yep, that's the plan. I think I'm still going to leave it more earth tones though.
  7. WooHoo!!! I think it might actually help the sound. Might help to mellow out that sometimes too much treble sound I hear in some Tele's.
  8. Man, I don't know what you were stressing about. It turned out great
  9. a lot depends on your scanner model. The new HP's have a lot of different file options. I'm pretty sure my settings can be changed to a PDF. You might check and see if there's an update to your scanner software/drivers. I haven't checked out Chancey's links, but my favorite PDF program is CutePDF Writer. It's pretty basic and just "Prints" whatever you want to a pdf document, so you can print your jpg's if you have to and it will save them as a PDF instead of a picture.
  10. I have to agree with everything said. I've only made 2 orders from them, but I find myself going to their site first if I need anything. The first order I had they called me first thing in the morning to let me know that they didn't have any sides in the size I had ordered, only 2 sq ft larger. Instead of just shipping the larger side and charging me without permission like most companies would, they wanted to make sure it was OK before they did it. On my last order I had ordered some of the same shearling pads that were out of stock. Again, before the end of the day they had me on the phone to figure out what I wanted to do, either remove it from my order or get a replacement synthetic item. I would much rather have a company that goes out of their way to take care of the customers and make sure they're meeting my needs then deal with a leather version of WalMart who's only interest is in shoving out as much product as possible as quick as possible.
  11. Ok, here we go. This is a "quick" bracelet. Took me longer than I had hoped. Left room for one more tool in case I decide I want to pebble the background.
  12. I might actually get to start mine tonight since the kids ruined our plans for the evening. Guess there's some benefit to having rotten brats. Chancey, as always
  13. 1980 FXE. Bought her bone stock with 9200 original miles last year. Old guy bought it new because everyone else had one and then let it sit in his shop for 30 years
  14. I love how much the simple black lines really darken up the red. That's a great contrast photo to show people the simple things that can bring out their work. Now, let's see if I can get similar quality coloring results
  15. Nice!!! Excellent execution.
  16. First wallet all together? Either way I have to agree that it's not a horrible outcome. As long as you learned where you were having problems and what to change for the next times. That's really all that matters when it's not a paying job. Honestly, most people wouldn't even see the problems that we do. Now, if I can get my first wallet to look anywhere near as nice, I'll pat myself on the back and say "job well done for your first try"
  17. Fighting an internet outage on campus. Not very fun when you're the one in charge of the internet!!!!

Funny thing is, we had an outage scheduled for tonight to replace our firewall. Too bad we can't do it now since people still need our DMZ servers during the day. As it is, I'm sittin ghere on a clearwire connection trying to get some work done.

  18. Sure you can. Unless you're assembling something out of it, that should only take 2 tools - swivel knife and beveler (Mallet's don't usually count as a tool) Get started and get it done man!! I probably won't get to start mine until at least Sunday.
  19. Lately it's been more Zakk Wylde, Megadeth, Danzig, and Pantera....... But I digress
  20. I'm not sure I understand the rules I think I can still salvage my ideas I came up with last night.
  21. Yeah, I know - but that's why I said "at least" I have one. That's why I call my area of the house my dungeon. Cramped, small, little comfort, but at least I get blues and brews
  22. Thanks! It's a mixture. I saw an idea as a piece of tattoo flash for an arm band and tweaked it then rolled with it.
  23. Alright, but someone else has gotta come up with the details. I'll be out of commission at work probably until about Sunday. -------->
  24. From the album: Cyberthrasher

Still not done yet, but at least I finished up all the deep tooling.
