  2. I can't wait for this to hit the market: http://www.wbir.com/...fing-technology Watch the video, This super Hydrophibic technology will change everything! Just amazing! I have heard from military members that rave about it. Finally, a product that scares water off of surfaces!
  3. Those look really cool. If they are not being made anymore, I may make up a stock set of them in Delrin for myself! Stitch~

  7. Thank you lightingale & aguilerag for your offers to test this template set for me. Please PM me with an address and I will send a set out to you both. Mike, I have PM'd you too. I believe that I have my needed beta testers for now so I will have to end my request & offer at this point. Thank you all for responding! Stitch~
  8. Hi Dwight, I suggest calling Ryan at Neel's Saddlery here in Ohio or Toledo sewing machines. I stopped in at Weaver leather to buy some parts and possibly a new sewing machine last year. Not the friendliest people at the counter there. Downright grumpy. I do hear really great things about Cobra Steve! On your machine, I guess I would first need to know which machine you have and if it has a servo drive or not. Can you give this information? Thanks, Stitch~ Hi Bill, Certainly! I will send a set right out to you. I have your address. I hope that you are doing well! Stitch~
  9. Yes! Please send me a message or email to my shop email address with your shipping info and I will get a set out to you asap. Thank you, Stitch
  10. Hi, I just made a new template set that I am thinking about adding to my product list. It is for making dog collars up to 2" width tapering to 3/4" ends & is designed for a 3/4" buckle. I do not have any pets to make a prototype collar to try it on. I would like to send this template set for free to someone that is a leather crafter & pet owner. My hope is that you will give it a try out and give me your feedback. I only have a couple available right now so it is first come, first served. It will come with instructions on measuring your dog's neck properly and sizing the strap. Please message me if you are interested. Thank you. Stitch~
  11. Thank you! Here is an update on the felt prototype. I made my husband a new windshield bag for his Harley. The Stingray was a last minute idea and I double laced it to match the color scheme on his Harley. Thanks, Stitch~

A new windshield bag I made for my husband's Harley. The stingray was a last minute touch.
  13. Whenever I make a new or custom item that needs a full scale protype, I make a pattern set from stiff felt. It sews and stitches nicely and holds a shape very well. It is also an economical way for me to test out my templates when it would otherwise involve a large piece of leather. Works so much better for this than cardboard sometimes. I may be the last to know this but I thought I'd share. Thanks, Stitch~
  14. Sorry, Not trashing the guy's business. I hope he does well and I mean that. He has great products and good ideas. I feel that competition inspires quality, service and good pricing. I just am sharing my personal opinion and experience on leather business cards. I am confused though.. I understood that the market place is thread for self promotion of services and products. I have used it in the past myself. Joyce~
  15. Even though I make specialized custom stamps and have made a few lasered business card style Delrin stamps like the ones being advertised here, I don't recomend them to my customers unless they insist. I find that most potential customers for custom leather goods decide to buy because of your craftsmanship and pricing rather than a tacky looking Delrin stamped piece of raw vegtan as your business card. It's your quality of work, finish and price and don't forget reputation that sell. The cost's involved in this hobby are high enough and the profit margins slim enough to utilize your hard earned money in other ways. I Do agree that your work is your advertisement and is a statement of your quality of craftsmanship. A maker's stamp on your products shows that you are proud of your work IMHO.. That being said... I am fortunate and honored to have other members here recomend my laser business in this forum. I truely appreciate you all. I hope to have a paid banner soon. Joyce
  16. Latigo laser brands just fine. A little more power and it can easily be color filled. Stitch~
  17. I called a local bowling alley and asked them if there was a business that did alley installation and refurbishment. They directed me to a company in Cleveland that had a warehouse full of used alleys. The company only charged me $10.00 a foot & $1.00 cutting charge! It still looks good after 4 years. I love the hard pine and maple sides. We built the pedestal with doubled 2x4's and 2x 10's and added tool drawers underneath. Love that Kreg pocket tool! I guess we had about $200.00 wrapped up in the whole project.
  18. Here's one of the work benches I have in the shop. It is a recycled 10' x 42" section of Bowling alley. With the pedestal base it weighs over 500 lbs! If we ever sell the house, it stays! Even with 5 work benches, I'm always out of work space! You'll be amazed at how fast any empty table top gets cluttered. I think it's some kind of law of nature! Stitch~
  19. Hey thanks Jake! Any thickness! but I try to limit cutting thickness to 1/4" to keep the sides straight. It cuts in an upside down cone shape (verry small) but the bottom will cut out slightly smaller at that thickness.
  20. Hmmmmm..... That must explain this..
  21. Good point Mokosh! We have a state of the art ventilation system that cleans and exhaust's all fumes from our machine. Plus, the laser vaporizes the materials it cuts so there are no airborne particulates like in grinding, sanding or machining. Wherever the beam travels, the material simply doesn't exist anymore! And the ventilation system takes care of the rest. Thanks! Stitch~
  22. Hey Thanks Cheryl! Our laser started off as a used 60 watt 900mm x 600mm laser. After Jerry gutted & then upgraded it, it now sports 100 watts of power, a servo drive system and a huge chiller unit. Plus a few other tricks he added. Replacement cost would be over 30k including support equipment after all of the improvements. The software is in a price league all it's own! The servo drive system is a must if you want real precision and speed. There are a lot of company's selling cnc lasers out there. Be carefull what you buy though. Some import units have importation, service and support issues. Do a lot of research before you buy! Thanks! Stitch~
  23. Hi all! I had a little free time yesterday so I made a knife sheath for my Nephew's Harbor Freight survival knife. He really enjoys the outdoors and is just starting to go hunting and fishing with his Dad. As an afterthought I added a small piece of Stingray to the project. I cheated and cut everything out on the laser in about 5 minutes. (short on time as usual). Cutting Stingray on the laser is like cutting warm butter with a hot knife! The Small piece of stingray is probably worth more than the whole knife! But I know that he will like it. Thought I'd share it with my friends on LW, Thanks for looking! Stitch~ BRL
