  1. Thanks for the nice comments Eddie. The interior I used is not punched so I punched the lacing holes together with the back. I guess if I had the pre-punched interior, I would glue the back and interior together and use the holes that are already punched for my guide holes to punch holes in the back.
  2. No apology necessary Oldtoolsniper. I am also anxious to see how this leather wears. I guess time will tell.
  3. Oldtoolsniper, Thanks for the nice comments. I really do believe this lacing will hold up very well. On my last billfold it lasted over 25 years and I carried it every single day, although it was broken at the folds. I believe this lacing pattern to be stronger than the double loop I used before. The lace is also a very high quality lace form Springfield Leather. I do believe it will last me a very long time.
  4. That is very nicely done. I really like the oak leaf designs. Nice work.
  5. That one is a big WOW! It is absolutely beautiful!!! Very nice work, no wonder they are happy with it.
  6. Thanks for the great comments. I will also be doing more wallets with the type of leather form Springfield. I like it a lot.
  7. Some real nice work there Matt. That knife sheath is great and the journal is a beauty. It is all very nice stuff.
  8. Thanks everyone for all the great comments. Merry Christmas to all!
  9. Feraud and Texback, Thanks for the kind comments. Tramp, Thanks for the nice comment. Springfield Leather does have some of this in black and a bunch of other colors. I have tried twice to post a web address but to no avail. (Sometimes this site is hard for me to use and it ends in frustrations. )

    Dobro Strap

Beautiful strap Chief. I also like the pictures of you playing the dobro.
  11. I did not dye this, it comes this color. They call it turquoise Brown. There is many different colors you can get this in from Springfield Leather.
  12. Antiquing sure makes a big difference in showing up your design. Here are two holsters I have completed. The one on the left in each picture is not antiqued and the one on the right is. I think the one on the right looks much better. What do you think?
  13. This is a billfold I made with leather and insides from Springfield Leather. Very nice leather but fairly thin which may be better for a wallet that is to be carried in the back pocket. I lined the back with pigskin liner. The insides are the "Men's Deluxe Wallet Interior." First time using Springfield insides and really like it. I hope to be doing more in the future. I have carried this wallet for about a week now so it may not look quite as good as it did brand new. Springfield's embossed leather is really nice stuff and I will be using more of it from now on. I also like Springfield's lace. It is good strong lace at a good price IMHO.
  14. Those look nice from here chief. Are the insides also from Springfield? I have a billfold I made a couple of weeks ago and I used Alligator embossed leather from Springfield with their insides. It turned out good. I'd post a picture but I'm just getting to leave for dinner. I'm going to have to try some of those Camos.
  15. Looks like a good start using your new tools. Be sure and post some pictures of the finished product.
  16. Sure beats the store bought junky plastic one. Good job. Looks nice.
