  1. Hi guys, Can you please suggest me on question in the topic title? Billfolds, coin purses, book/notebook covers etc etc - anything what must be folded for using. Should I choose and place a pattern so it won't go over the folding line ? Thanks!

Thanks! I guess you mean banknotes, right?
  3. Congratulations, Kevin, you got them! And yes, you CAN dream... first and then make you dream true And moreover now you MUST get over points A and B mentioned by you and send us a pictures the work you'll get done with these new stamps. Cheers!

  5. It depends on leather you are using (and mostly thickness I guess) but anyways "puffyness" can be added later with coloring.
  6. I know one guy who has put just a different sorts of nut onto bolts ( so bolt won't go out from nut) , and uses it as a basketweave stamps. Has pretty good "hexagons with circles inside" (he calls it "shooted hoineycomb" ) patterns especially using small nuts
  7. Thanks again, I'll chekc it out.
  8. A lot of places. For instance.... I just wandering if "antique paste" is not the same as "waterproof finish" (not "finNish" heh )
  9. Groove is not much deep - I just used smallest Tandy's groover blade for it (so it fracts of mm) but everything looks exactly like you say. I also may need to push overstitcher more... I will make some experiments next time . Thanks for sharing your experience and for your suggestions!
  10. Absolutely great stuff! Respect. As for quiet zone you can try out any of embossing techniques as well, just google for "repoussee leather". All you need for that are swivel knife, stylus, modeling tools (spoons and balls) and optional paints either dyes or acrylics (and finish of course as usual).
  11. Thanks for sharing your experience, Andrew! This is what I was afraid of BTW I gave a try Singer 144 at local antique (sick! ) shop and found it would be hard to go with bags (mainly gussets) on this type of machine. So I most likely will look at postbed or cylinder but not a flatbed. But having 2 machines for such a small projects what I plan to do would be kind of overkill.
  12. Bruce is the owner of Stecksstore shop ( the link for his ebay lot I put in my previous message). Everything I bought from him I got here in Finland with no any problems. You can send him a message through ebay and discuss everything you need. I think he has enough Fiebings antique to cover much larger area than you mentioned BTW just interesting about the project you 've mentioned: are these going to be outside door panels?
  13. You should go straight and ask them for their antique paste's recipe instead of dealers locations. I bet they know what they are making rather than where you can buy it PS I answered to your message in "How Do I..."
  14. Hi chancey, Please don't cry, Finland not such a heck of the woods like it might appear at first glance Do have a look for instance at this lot and if 14 bucks is not an issue (and actually as I 've got from your post it is not), you'll get that in 14 days delivered to your door. Bruce has some other antiques/colors and quite a thrustworth guy to buy from. Hope it helps. Cheers!
  15. I tried both cased leather - had grooved it before when it was dry , then cased, then used stitcher while tooliing, and like stitcher I usualy used to use - groove, then damp the only that groove and finally used stitcher. In both cases I got nothing mora than just a serie of pinholes May be I should omit a grooving? PS: Next time I going for practice I'll take a shots of what I get with stitcher.
