Thanks Wiz, I didn't think they would do anything, but I wanted someone who knows to tell me. Cheryl

Well not actually singers, my 1-91. The other two are hand crank and treadle. Well I don't know maybe those add on things work with them too, I just don't know enough about them. Thanks, Cheryl

Thanks Renee, I like the idea too. But 2 people have said the silver plate. I knew better than to ask, LOL. Not doing anything on them right now. Cheryl

Hi Harag, not dumb at all. The oval will be a barrette, the next larger one a necklace and the two small ones earrings. I'll put them up after I'm finished and use something for scale. Cheryl

No Brian, your opening yourself up to being broke the rest of your life, LOL. There's always one more tool you just have to have, or one more kind of leather you want to try I just got in an order of elk, bison calf and soft beige pig lining. And I haven't opened it because I have no where to put it, LOL. And my new lacing chisel is in there too. Cheryl

Brian, I am so sorry none of us mentioned a stylus. That was the first tool I bought at Michaels which has a miniscule leather work area. Had it before the basic 7. Sometimes it's just really hard to think of everything even though I'm going back less than two years I'm glad you have your tools and scraps to start on. Keep everything, you'll be amazed every month how much better you are than the month before. Kinda pictures in the journal of the leather journey. I'm sure you know this already though through your braiding. Good luck and can't wait for the pictures. And awesome on finding a group to work with. Cheryl

Looks good to me, neat clean lines. Not sure what you thought was wrong I checked and didn't see the problems. Good work. Cheryl

Love the design, have to try one of those. And your tooling is really nice. Cheryl

Allen, beautiful job. My last one I didn't line but I skived the furry edges on the back, was the furriest leather I ever saw. I like how this design came out. Cheryl

You did a good job. Cheryl

Brian that is beautiful, a real work of art. Cheryl

I looked at the handle on the case and watched him doing the other one, and it just looked like two pieces of veg tasnned back to back. However I know on rolled handles (and I guess these two) you could mold them around a nylon rope, small diameter if you wanted to add a rounded look to your handles. Cheryl

Gregg it's not hard once you've done one, but of course I guess that's true of anything. Cut your design out of your veg tanned leather. Geometric shapes are the easiest but you could actually cut out a small snake. Burnish and skive the hole all around the design. That way the leather snake won't look so sunken in. glue the front of the snake over the back of the hole. I make my inlay long or wide enough that I pick it up with my regular stitching or lacing. Then I cut a lining leather out to go over the inlay, glue the back to the back of the snake. Again I make it long enough or wide enough to be sewn or laced with the rest of the project. Fo a really nice finished project glue some lining leather to match on the other side. Sew or lace.
A checkbook cover I just finished.....

Do you know some where they can be bought Faire?

From the threads of my PM. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks, Cheryl

I made this from one of the police gear struck through black bellies from Springfield. I was afraid the rhinestone buckle set I took off an old belt I found might look cheesy but it doesn't look too bad since I didn't tool a million things on the strap. The police gear bellies are so furry on the back all the edges have to be skived but still was the easiest strap I've ever made. Comments appreciated. Cheryl
