yeah, same here.

ebay and paypal have divorced. But I agree, the simple answer is to simply rename the item. Wonder what they'll do with al-Qaeda cupcakes or ISIS pops?

I saw this on the pen turners board. I thought I'd recap it here since i know a lot of you leatherworkers make knives out of damascus steel. "Just a heads up to all my customers that have ordered Damascus blanks. Pay Pal is holding up our funds on all orders with the word Damascus in it until they can verify we are not Terrorist."

Tandy's offering is pretty mediocre and very limited on # of items available per store. The lettering set was the only thing that appealed to me, but I'm guessing they'll pretty quick here.

I got both the kits off ebay a few years back. The plastic one did not survive the trip. Looked like someone at the USPS sat on it.

Those are some nice looking rolls but you may be right that they are too large. The largest one I have is 1 5/8" diameter and it 'just' has enough clearance for the strap.

Looks like both Tandy and Tippmann have discontinued their respective embossers so no rolls are showing up on their websites. Their dealers may still have some old ones around.

well I can make them up to 1 foot x 2 foot if that will help next time.

Thank you. Murphy's law strikes again.

Thanks for looking. Up for sale are a set of 5 replacement tubes for the Al Stolhman punch set #35008. Included are sizes 0 (5/64"), 1 (3/32"), 2 (1/8"), 4 (5/32"), 5 (3/16"). These are no longer carried by Tandy so if you've broken one, this is a good time to replace them. Cost is $12.25 shipped.

Thanks for looking. Up for sale is a new in package #3 CS Osborne bissonnette edge tool with straight shank. These will cut on either a push or a pull to bevel the edges. Cost is $25 shipped (domestically).

Just FYI, these are quite malleable. I have made some wide 8" wristbands and they easily bend to the radius of the closed band so I'm pretty sure it will work on a longer collar. These are pretty old and acquired as part of an auction a few years back.

I just put some wing HD conches up last night. Here is the link.

Thanks for looking. This was a great find. It is an CS Osborne #459 embossing carriage and 4 wheels all new in package. The wheels are #'s 15, 17, 18, 19 and the patterns are shown here. Asking $30 plus $3 shipping.

Like electrathon has already said, the blunt force trauma of hitting the wood would most likely split it. Using a press spreads more of the energy evenly. A tight grain wood is probably the best route to take since it will leave a tighter texture in the leather vs an open grain. I've definitely seen someone make large letters for impressing into the leather.

Tandy Embossing Rolls With Bunkhouse Machine
Studio-N replied to DianeWood's topic in How Do I Do That?
I believe they will work. At the very least, Tandy has a no question return policy, so if they don't you're not out anything but postage. -
Tandy Embossing Rolls With Bunkhouse Machine
Studio-N replied to DianeWood's topic in How Do I Do That?
While I have not used them on the Bunkhouse machine, I've done the reverse. They both use a 1" bore so I see no reason while it should not work. It would probably just need a bit more pressure to make sure the roll comes in contact with the leather. The reverse is not always true because bunkhouse uses a larger Outer diameter on their rolls that what the Tandy machine will support. On a couple of rolls that were a smaller OD, they worked just fine. Cheers! -
You can make stamps out of just about anything. It only has to be harder than leather. It will work best with a press. There are LOTS of letterpress stamps and woodcuts on ebay that work well. The only issue becomes longevity.

How Do You Prevent Too Many Orders If You Work Alone?
Studio-N replied to Tallbald's topic in Marketing and Advertising
I would just love to have that problem!
