Ok blizzard here today , so after digging out my car 5 times all over town and doing some moving and clearing a bunch of stuff from my wife's grandfathers and driving boxes and furniture to her brothers and sisters.... I am going to start on my snowflake tonight....MAYBE:) Today has been one of those help all your neighbors dig days....and clear out granddads house(he passed right before Christmas on my Daughters birthday) Needless to say I am exhausted and everything hurts right now, so I see some cold beer and sauna in my future very near future:), but I have some ideas of what I am going to make now:) SO LETS SEE IF I HAVE THE POWER:) 2morrow is another day after all:)

Like I said in an earlier post we are all whores, and I do my fair share, but there is a point when you have enough work that you can say no. It takes years to get to that point, and I struggle through winter like everyone else, but in the end, I do have the option to say no it has to be done this way or take it somewhere else. All my seat pans are done by hand, so I know about fabrication and real deal steel! I don't watch tv, I live the life! Kuudos to you! And your work!

It seems you are putting more effort into doing something that you could have just done right the first time, and made it out of veg tand and done the lettering and would have been done by now. Maybe that was terrible advise I gave, I should have told you just to stick to your guns and do it right! SORRY...Dye is for sure going to bleed through tape, prob even in an airbrush will bleed, you have to paint it to get crisp lines. If she can't afford the real deal, as a collage student I am sure she come come up with a way to pay you back...maybe a bake sale,or...bikini car wash....or...something implied I am sure... Hey Jesse! Another Florida boy is MORE THAN WELCOME HERE! I am from Plant City/Dover near Brandon/Tampa....anyway, there are a lot of awesome folks here and more than willing to give advise. And being in Florida you have a lot of resources for the tools you need to get started! Once you have down a few basic things you will go from crawling to running in no time, it just takes someone to show you and watch all the vids you can from youtube they will help a lot! Very nice Ann! See if you can send out one of your minions to find you a nice piece of polished stone. At least a foot wide would be perfect and put down a towel under it so you don't scratch up your dining room table. Are you working with Veg Tan? Are you giving it a sponge of lightly damp water? If you are doing it dry this could for sure be the problem.

You can definitely find some real good stuff to use inside your tool roll for 1-2 dollars. Since you have the 8/9 oz shoulders for the outsides find something to recycle for the interior.

Sure Mike, I just measured the ones that are currently falling as I write this; they are .70mm...give or take .01-.07mm.. but lets make them on leather at least 6cm....also known as 60mm. That is 2.3622047" standard US size, but feel free to round up to 2 3/8 or EVEN GO CRAZY AT 3" THERE IS NO SIZE LIMITS ON THE CHALLENGE EITHER...
