  2. I gotta agree with that Mike, the majority of the folk here are really friendly & supportive to the point where Id ratther ask people here stuff than I would people I know in the "real world". Thats gotta say something!!!
  3. Hi Needles, welcome, we have a Tandy in Northampton, they stock gum trag, they are normally pretty quick too.
  4. Tthe edge bevelling, dyeing & finishing are all done before stitching, the stitch that goes over the edge is called a "bind over", hope this helps.

  6. Personally I'd go with a small cylinder arm machine, I think the work is more manouverable on those & if ya clever enough you could always build a box to go around the arm to make a flatbed, just my opinion, if I get another machine thats what I'll be after.

  9. I dont think you can get tired of the smell of leather but when you get used to it you dont always notice it anymore
  10. You made a lovely job of that. I think Renee meant the actual wallet pieces so you then have the pattern to make more if you want to...I do that with all the kits I buy

  15. I've used saddle lac over acrylic & it disappeared....(the acrylic that is)

  18. cant you mark out on the floor then move to a more suitable place to do your cutting?
  19. Hi Andrew, I use lining paper (wall paper) for making my patterns, its quite thick but still flexible, when Im happy with it or have tried it & it works I glue it to some card so its more rigid & harder wearing.

  24. Is it just me or is there a problem with the chatroom? When I try to enter I get this come up http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?app=ipchat&_popup=1 the option for chat at the top of the page doesnt show that there is anyone in, has something gone wrong?
