Where is the "View new posts since last visit" ?
TimberWolf replied to TimberWolf's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
OK, Thanks, Johanna! Tim -
Johanna, Is this feature gone, or is it forthcoming in an update? I really miss being able to just click it to see what new topics are available since last visit. I haven't read many of any of the posts since the new site came online...just don't have the time to check every catagory. Please bring it back Thanks.\Tim

Hi George, I had tried many free trials (including Homestead) when I wanted to build my website. Most were loaded with complicated features that I didn't even need. The one I heartily recommend is http://www.pappashop.com/ Super easy to use, and excellent customer support! Couldn't be happier with them, and you can get a secure shopping cart/hosting for $12.95 month. Paypal too! Anyone that wants to build thier own website on a budget, and have easy, total control of it should try the free demo. Best I've found! Good Luck! Tim www.timberwolfleather.com

I have some two-piece brackets similar to the ones on HD bags. I may sell some (5 pair mimimum/ $5. per pair) Note: This bracket is attached before final assembly. You may have to go another route if your bag is already sewn. Tim

Hmmm....Sounds a little too cheap to me. Those 441's hold their value. I'd be wary. Tim

Duke - Western Holster Rig
TimberWolf replied to mattsh's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Matt, Here is a similar holster I made recently for a Ruger Vaquero. I use a leather tie on the back skirt loop. Snaps and screw posts will work, but I think a simple leather tie looks more traditional. TimberWolf -
Yep, ...he said the control unit was bad. not fixable. anyway, I am happy. just a slight inconvenience.

Art: Hobby Tom: Thanks for your input ! (Tom, I sent you a PM) Follow-up: I just talked to Jerry at Artisan. I want to say he handled the problem in an exceptional manner! He is shipping a brand new upgraded servo motor to me today at no cost. Artisan is even picking up the freight. Thanks, Artisan!......that's great customer service! Tim

Thanks Bruce,....Hopefully it is something simple. The machine worked perfectly yesterday. Pretty strange to just take off like a rocket! Good thing I was paying attention to my sewing! Tim

Howdy, I began to stitch an item this morning on my Artisan 3000, and the motor speed has increased dramatically. I suspect the problem is with the servo motor, but I don't know. Otherwise it operates fine- just won't go slow anymore! Has anyone with the 3000 had a similar problem? Fix? Too early here on the east coast to call Aritisan, so I thought I would ask here first. Many thanks! Tim

Thanks for the reply, rdb. Very true about the tannery shortage in the USA. Unfortunately, things are not like they used to be in many aspects of manufacturing. I am very "buy American" when possible, but now-a-days that is almost a thing of the past. When I am lucky enough to find a leather that is perfect for whatever product I am making, it really is frustrating when it is not available. I like a very consistant product, and when using an alternative leather, it is always hit or miss on the consistancy. That is one reason I like the Diamond Tan so much- when it is available, I can count on it being the same every time. Guess I'll have to shop around and get some sample swatches coming this way. Thanks again for you input. Tim

Hello, I have used the Siegel Diamond Tan, in black, for about 4-5 years now. Love it! BUT.....it seems in the last three years it is almost NEVER in stock when I call. Vey frustrating! The salea rep always tells me the same reason- because of the supplier they use, Siegel never knows when they will have more in stock. So, to anyone familiar with that leather- do you have a source for a replacement? It need to be as close to Siegle leather as possible. Finish, temper, and thickness is perfect for my needs. I spoke with a sales rep at Siegels yesterday and told her I would certainly buy alot more of thier leather, ( all types) but I have just about given up on them. The service and product is super- when it is available. Thanks, Tim

Tiny- Thanks for the compliment! The bag is a 9-10 oz. No stiffener, because with a windshield bag it needs to flex and conform to the curve of the sheild. I'll try and get you pic of the inside. Tim

Thanks for the comments everyone! Bob- The bag will fit stock HD windshields used on the Road King and Heritage Classic. Also Memphis Fats windshields. Ian- The brackets are from Custom Metal Crafters. Usually a huge minimum order though, unless you luck out and thay have some left over from a previous production run. http://www.custom-metal.com Tim

Completed this windshield bag this morning. Started with W/C chestnut and darkend the edges a little to fade into the main body of the bag. Basic chrome spots trim/piped flap. Thanks for takin' a look! Tim

First bridle, breast collar, and chinks

Hi Bev, very nice looking work! I want to make a new headstall for my mare with the cheek pieces similar to the shape you used. Thanks for posting, TimberWolf -
Silver dye?
TimberWolf replied to Wyvern's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
I would recommend using an airbrush. Createx pearl silver is what I use. Here is an inlayed tank panel I made. Tim -
Very nice work! I am not too far from you....Jasper, Pickens County. Tim

Thanks for the comments, everyone! Mathew- the black leather is 6oz., and the basket stamped pieces are 7-8 veg. Tim

I thought this video was pretty cool, and very nicely done. I grew up in the 60's and like most kids back then, was a big TV cowboy fan. If you are old enough, it will bring back some memories! Enjoy! http://www.greatdanepro.com/Western%20Stars/index.htm

Art & Tom, ...Thanks! Steve- Thanks,.. the Indian is actually a screwback concho. There is a velcro strip under the flap for closure. With this style of pocket, a snap doesn't allow for expansion or adjustment so the velcro works best.

Thank you all for the comments, ....much appreciated! Tim

Hey all, this is a tank panel I completed recently. It is for a Harley Softail. I don't usually trim one this way because of the extra time involved, but I like the look. The bone and beads are all natural materials....no plastic. Each row is wired onto the pocket, with a leather backing to keep the wire hidden and secure. Thanks for taking a look, Tim

Hey, thanks a bunch, everyone!! ....well, I don't feel any older than last year! LOL! Guess that's a good thing! TimberWolf

The underside is fully lined with black felt to help protect the paint. As with most fender bibs, it mounts using the existing stock fender nut positions. On the Dyna, there is one in front where the solo mounts, and one in the rear (where a two-uo seat would mount. Tim
