  1. Art, Bruce,...would you recommend it for tack work? What is the best needle plate/presser foot for getting in close to halter 'D's and breast collar rings? Right now, I only have the plate and foot that came on my 3000. Thanks, Tim
  2. Try making a plastic template, exactly the size of the strap end, with slightly bigger holes in it than needed for the watch strap. Then place the template over the leather strap and draw or scribe each hole through the template. Then punch them out. Tim

Zilla, Yep...Art got it right. Here is a place you can check out. http://www.ngatraders.com Click on "accessories" Per the web site: "Old School" Getback Whips were historically used by motorcycle clubs to display colors, increase visibility or add their individual style Getback whips are braided on to a quick release clip which attaches to either brake or clutch lever and can be detached with a quick pull when needed for those "SPECIAL OCCASIONS" Tim
  4. Johanna, thanks for taking the the time to remind us all of our Vets and active duty folks ! Tim, Navy '72-'76
  5. Pete, Couldn't get the photo to open.
  6. Thanks Luke! Much appreciated! hey Pete, the round part of the strap with the concho is double layered. I use a 5 oz. backing there to attach the spur button to the strap. Thanks for asking! Tim
  7. Here is a pair of spur straps I made for my boots. Nothing too fancy or difficult, I opted to keep the leather plain black and trim with spots. Tim
  8. Mike, I set a "per hour" labor rate for myself, plus the cost of materials. I like to keep the MINIMUM at $30./hour, but then overhead and self-employ taxes have to come out of that rate. I agee with Randy, if a customer can't afford what you charge, then they will have to shop elsewhere. Tim
  9. GREAT work, Dave! Always like to see your seats! Tim
  10. Mighty fine, Kev! I like 'em! Tim
  11. Hey all, finished this windshield bag today. Something you won't see at your local HD dealer. (the front shot of the bag shows the eagle head a little washed-out looking due to the angle and light) Fits Harley Heritage Classic and Road King models with stock HD shield. Thanks for veiwing! Tim
  12. Great looking bag,Kevin! What type/size thread did you use? Tim
  13. Hey Billy, take a look at my web site link to see what I charge for production tank panels. Anything custom is higher, depending on what the customer wants, and which model. The Harley dealers carry mostly HD accessories..."cookie cutter" production items. Their prices are generally are in the $70.+ range. For custom work, I would use that for a base price and go from there. Tim
  14. We want MORE!! Thanks Johanna!!!! Tim
  15. Mike, Glad you joined us! Regis already asked what I wanted to know....colors/finish ? Very nice, crisp work! Tim
  16. I did a check on ebay this morning. There isn't one listed at the moment, but usually there are several. If I see one, I'll let you know. Tim
  17. OK,...there are two holes in the top that fit under the speedo. Those holes are for the pegs that are cast into the Softail dash. They are 1.5 " apart o.c. I use a 1/4" drive punch on the the tank panel for those. For proper positioning between the top and bottom holes, what you should have is 8.5" o.c. going to each top hole, from the bottom hole. If you are going to make a number of these, I would recommend buying a stock HD plastic tank panel on ebay. I always double check my hole placement against the stock panel before shipping. You can find them cheap...usually under $5. Good Luck. Tim
  18. Kevin, It depends on the model and in some cases, even the year. If you are making one for a Harley Softail, for example, the panels have different mounting holes near the seat. 84-99 were the early style. From 2000 and up Harley changed the tank panel and the mounting hole position. Same for under the edge of the speedo dash- they differ. Alot of the metric V twins have similar speedo housings, so it really depends on the specific model. There are subtle but important differences in many of the tank panels. Let me know if I can help. Tim
  19. Hey Freak, good job! I like the cuffs and the style of lettering! I have to agree with Beave....the word "ambirgram" is a new one to me too. Well, here in hick-a-billy heaven,(rural Georgia) I haven't heard anyone use the term! LOL! Tim
  20. Ken, Great looking vests! Just enough trim to look custom & classy! Thanks for posting! Tim
  21. Welcome Duane!! Post some pics soon! Tim
  22. As always, stunning work Larry!!
  23. Very cool, David! Is the artwork one of your originals? Tim
  24. Thanks all for the comments! Much appreciated! SkipJ, I line the sheath with a thin black pigskin. There is no exposed metal on the inside. Thanks for asking! Tim
  25. Hey Alex, thanks! Yes, I use a 3/8"welt. It keeps the sheath from being too tight. The black one is black latigo, so that cuts out any hand dyeing time. Tim
