  1. Thanks, Chris! The Raod King bag has a leather tab sewn on the back. There is a hole in it that lines up with the lower console screw. I also use velcro on the top and bottom as a secondary mount. Tim
  2. Dan, I can send a pic of the Softail panel w/dimensions. I make a panel for the V Star, but on all my original patterns, I prefer not to give the patterns out, as this is how I make my living as opposed to a hobby. Please don't take that the wrong way....just my policy. I am happy to answer general questions/dimensions. Thanks, Tim
  3. Hey Roger, how's it going.Yep, got a pattern for it. The 2000-up Softails all use the same panel, except Deuce. After I get back in the shop, I'll PM with the size. Brad, I'll email that panel size to you as well Tim
  4. What model is it for? .....there are alot of sizes depending on the bike. Tim
  5. abn: Thanks for the kind words. rolf: Thanks, ...I use a Artisan 3000 for most of the bag, but use a Juki 241 for the overlay pieces.
  6. Thanks Rusty.... I think I had about 3+ hours in this set of bags. Tim
  7. Had a request for a spiked fender bib, for a customer's Harley Dyna Street Bob. He emailed this photo of the installed fender bib. ....Guess he won't be packing any riders around on this one! Tim
  8. Here is a pair of bags I recently made. My saddle is black, but I wanted a little contrast in color. Essentially, just a basic "quickie" set of trail riding bags w/ basket stamped overlays. Thanks for taking a look! Tim
  9. Hey Duke, that part of the the spur strap is two layers. There is an inside cover over the spur button. The concho mounts on the outside/ the inner layer goes on the spur button. Tim
  10. Thanks... I bought a bunch of mounting brackets a few years ago from a vendor who was in Sturgis. He was retiring and selling off some hardware. Tim
  11. Thanks Grumpy! Ya, I airbrushed the inner and outer portions. I prefer the airbrush for smaller items. I'll have to try the wet moulding trick..thanks for the tip. TW
  12. Made this pair of spur straps recently. Buckaroo style with Texas Ranger star conchos, & basket stamped inner portion. Tim
  13. Finished this windshield bag today....going on an HD Heritage Softail. Your basic black and chrome...ya I know,.. kind of boring, but that's what the customers want. Thanks for veiwing! TW
  14. Thought I would make myself some chinks,... nothing fancy, just basic riding/work chinks. Actually my first pair. My usual stuff is cycle related, but a departure from the usual is needed once in a while. Tim
  15. Art, Thanks for the post. Before I figured out the whole problem was the thread itself, I was ready to call my service guy to come look at the Juki. Think I will stay with the same brand I have been using for years. I don't have the patience to experiment and tweek the settings to accomodate new thread. Surprising that just a different brand of thread can do that to a machine. Tim
  16. Bill, The new thread came from "The Thread Exchage". There was a post on the forum a while back, so I thought I would try them. My usual supplier is Southen Textile Group, out of Chattanooga Tn. http://www.stgroup.org The main reason I tried the new supplier was because they had small cones of 138 in colors. I called Thread Exchange, and Bob was very nice about the problem and offered a refund, but had no idea why it doesn't sew well in my Juki. Tim
  17. Thanks for the replies. I think I found the reason...it is the new thread I am using. No tension tweeking combinations helped, so I got to thinking maybe it is the thread and not the machine. Sure enough, I had a little thread left on a cone from my usual supplier, so I filled the bobbin and used the old thread on top as well. Perfect looking stitches! I just stated using this other brand of 138 this morning, and that is where the problems began.Visually, the new thread looks fine, but for some reason it doesn't perform well at all in my Juki. Just placed an order for more 138 from my old supplier. This new thread can go into the round file. Tim
  18. My bottom thread tension, all of a sudden, is looking like crap! This is on my Juki 241 flat machine. I tried adjusting the bobbin tension slightly, but no change. Thread size is 138, same as I have been using for years. The photo shows the bad stitches on the top sample. The bottom sample was from a piece I had sewn a few days ago and is how it should look. How can I correct this? Any ideas? Thanks, Tim
  19. This was a very special dog, Sugar Bear,... she passed some years ago at the age of 14. Had her since she was two months old. Although she was too big to ride on my old Harley, she did like to "pretend" she was in the wind! We now have six farm dogs, all but one were strays or rescue cases. We love 'em all. Tim
  20. Great looking seat, as usual, Beeze! What model will it go on? Tim
  21. Had a request for yellow roses on a windshield bag and matching gas tank panel. Going on a yellow Harley Sportster. A chick bike of course! (The bike in the pic is my wife's...same model as the customer) The tank panel has three inside pockets for extra storage. BTW, there is a recent thread on the forum about magnesium embossing plates.....the rose design is from one of those plates. Thanks for veiwing, Tim
  22. Welcome Maxx! Nice work! There are a few of us here from Georgia...I am in Jasper, GA Tim
  23. Thanks for the kind words, ArtS ! Ya, I'm just up the road a ways from Holly Springs...small world! Are you a member of The Cherokee Saddle Club, or Bent Tree Saddle Club? We ride with Bent Tree, but missed the ride to Jake Mt. a few weeks ago. Tim
  24. ArtS, Really nice job on the bags! I especially like the curved connector! It flows nicely with the overall! bag shape Tim
  25. Bruce, Thanks for the reply! I will try a filler strip on my next breast collar. Guess I should go ahead and get some other presser feet too. Tim
