  1. I got a roller foot for an Adler 104-2 from Toledo sewing (sewmun). I think the Adler is very close to a Singer 45 non walking foot. Hope this helps. Ken
  2. Would you recommend a push beader please? How do you sharpen your beader? Thank you. Ken
  3. Most of my referal customers are horse people, especially cowboys. 99% of these guys tuck the card down into their wallet for future reference. I believe the glossy cards on heavy, high quality paper last longer in a wallet, in fact I have had several comments the last couple of months about how good they stand up. First and Formost though, you should be comfortable with your card. Don't do something just because someone does it. That said, I like to use someone else's trial and error whenever I can. The studio that does mine, charges me less than what I can do them for myself and as I am not good on a computer and do not have a really good printer, they are far better than what I could ever do for myself. I buy a 1000 at a time and they are NICE, HIGH QUALITY, OF MY DESIGN AND THEY ARE REASONABLY PRICED (YOU COULD EVEN SAY CHEAP). Ken
  4. I like it, I might add that in my opinion anyone getting business cards have them done on the best stock they can afford. A poor quality business card speaks poorly of a business. A retired executive told me this a long time ago and it took me a long time to figure out he was right. Besides the life expectancy of a a high quality card, slick on both sides is MUCH longer than an inexpensive card. Just my 2 cents worth. Ken
  5. I have a Luberto's Classic, which is motorized and a#9 should be too. I think the Classic is the easiest machine to sew with and adjust I have used and have owned several including hook and awl machines, Juki 441 clones. Adler, artisan, juki and consew walking foot machines. Any machine can and will peobably need adjusting sooner or later. A servo motor makes most machines more user friendly. If a #9 is too complicated for you, you might consider a Tippman Boss. Just my 2 cents worth. Ken
  6. I called Steve because I had an issue with an old Adler 30-1 patcher. He told me how to fix it in about 45 seconds and it worked! WHAT AN EXTRA ORDINARY SUPURB BUSINESS man AND NICE GUY! Not to mention an expert sewing machine mechanic. Ken
  7. Landis 3's are good if they are in good condition, Seen some awesome work done on Champion's, Pearson 6, Union lock, Campbell and Randalls. I have a luberto's Classic that does a really good job and have a Cobra 4 that is a good machine too. NOT ALL CHINESE MACHINES ARE CREATED EQUAL, NOR ARE ALL OF THEM SET UP THE SAME! Just my opinion. Ken
  8. CALL COBRA STEVE!!!! You will be glad you did! Ken
  9. Harry Adams Saddlemakers Shop Manual is pretty easy to understnd and I think it is a good place to start on learning. Good Luck. Ken
  10. Back in the day; When I was young and straight up cowboying, I had 1 saddle, a7 wide Chuck Shepard roper. I rode it for 7 or 8 years. I had a double wool blanket, an inch felt pad and a thick cutback pad. Depending what horse I was ridin, I used a combination of one or more of the blanket and pads. Roped big and small cattle by the hundreds outside in all kinds of landscapes. Often rode one horse for over 12 hours at a time and pushed them hard. Never sored a horse with that saddle and group of pads or raised a serious white spot on one. This saddle was on well over 150 head of horses, all types of horses. Used up several pads but always had just the 3 in use at one time. Ken

  20. I noticed the same thing on my last two orders from them and did complain to one of the staff. I am replacing Weaver as one of my suppliers. Not only that but 5 of the last 6 orders I received from them had errors and like always, you can pay shipping back and take a hit on a restocking fee. GREED, PURE AND SIMPLE. Ken
  21. This building is available as a turnkey saddle shop and boot repair shop. Phone number is still the same if interested. All equipment is late model and in excellent clean condition. Ken
  22. In my opinion, You are right on the mark with your observation. I use rubber cement on sheepskins both new and relines. I took a woolskin out that had been put in with contact a couple of years ago, what a JOB! Ken
  23. There is a Luberto's classic on Ebay right now that is on the bargain counter. If you are thinking of one, I would give it a whirl. I have one and it is an awesome machine. This one could be bought on a buy it now for $2500 a couple of hours ago. That is a steal in my opinion. Ken
