  4. looks great. I love the color contrast.
  5. Thank you Bob for the information. I have been trying this method out and even though I am still not 100% on how much moisture this system seams to be working better than what I used to do ie just wetting the leather while i am working it. this combined with increased attention to swivel knife sharpness has made a big difference. 6. you all have very nice looking shops, right now mine is a book shelf with a fold out table on one side of a walk in closet. I usually have to drag out all my stuff to the kitchen table. now if I could get all of my wifes projects out of the garage I could have some space.
  7. Has anyone expressed any interest? I have been looking for just such a group in the area. I was hoping that the old guild my dad belonged to, the Utah leather founders still around but it appears that this is not the case. BP

  14. Thanks for the welcome. im in Riverton Utah, right in the Salt Lake Valley. I have not really found any clubs nearby yet. I could not find any info on the Utah leather Pounders either. I need to make it over to Tandy's or beck leather to see if they have any info.
  15. Hi all. just wanted to pop in and say hi and introduce myself. My name Is Brian and I started out in leather craft when I was in elementary school. My Father was very much into the craft and always encouraged me and helped with projects. I was into it until other interests took over in my early teens. My father was very active and was aslo a long time member of the Utah Leather pounders. I am not sure why he got out of it or even when exactly he did. well fast forward 30 years and I find myself drawn in again. I am starting out new again and am trying to build up my inventory of equipment and tools on a limited budget. It seems that my father got rid of most of his tools many years ago. he passed away in 2008. anyway I am glad to be back and I look forward to learning and re learning the craft.
