Outside of F Martins, is there a company stateside that sells Stainless Steel &/or Solid Brass Martingale chains? I've been looking desperately and can't seem to find anything, however, I know a few other collar makers state-side are using stainless / solid brass, like Hogan Leather. I'm not sure how feasible [ financially ] it would be to import from F. Martins, when you factor in the pound to dollar amount & then international shipping. CDW sells plated steel, which I have no interest in. ~

I actually do have the Osborne version I think my main problem is the snaps! I don't think the post is sticking up past the leather enough! I tried "compressing" the leather with a hammer, and managed to set one, but it was a ROYAL pain!!! ~

Thanks for the heads up! Maybe I'll save for the press n snap instead. I think those are around $100? ~

Thank you! Do you know how far abouts the post should stick out past the leather? Thanks! I am horrible at skiving, especially with the super skiver I guess it's something I'm going to have to practice huh?

I feel like I'm losing my mind Every time I try to set line 24 snaps in my 10-12oz leather, I'm not getting a good curl and the snaps don't set properly. I think because the "post" is not long enough. Am I missing something? Do I need to skive the leather down? I know I've seen other makers set snaps in 10-12oz leather so I feel like I'm not doing something right. Personally, I didn't like it. It was very stretchy & the flesh side was very fuzzy. However, it didn't suit my particular purpose, & I only bought it a couple times. Someone else might have a different experience ~

American Leather Direct has amazing latigo. The brown is very rich / dark. I would definitely recommend them. ~

I've seen a few different leather makers that make dog tack claim to have saddle tan latigo. I haven't been able to find a supplier for it, & I'm starting to wonder if they're using bridle & just calling it latigo? LOL Anyway, does any one know of any suppliers for tan / saddle tan latigo in 10-12oz weight? Note, I do NOT want indian / aluminum tan. I want the traditional chrome / veg re-tan or straight veg tan latigo...but in saddle-tan / tan colour. Thanks in advance to whoever can solve this mystery for me! ~
