Pardon me Todd, but what do you mean by "who's rigging pattern am I using"?? It all came from my shop and started with a pencil, eraser and pattern paper just like the vast majority of my patterns. I do have to give credit for the rigging style to Jon Watsabaugh though.

Latest chinks.
Elton Joorisity replied to Elton Joorisity's topic in Clothing, Jackets, Vests and Chaps
Brian, thanks for the input. I had originally not bargrounded those areas but then for some stupid reason I decided to!! Almost started over had he not been coming to get them the next morning!! He was also adamant that the tooling was done this way. I would have normally run a set stamp to fill in the balance but he just wanted borders on the rest. -

Easy now Timbo! I honestly doesn't take muck cranking to rip out a stirrup leather buckle hole or two!! mine only has a 2" dia. knob -

These are my 2nd pair of square cuts and first pair with spots. They were made for the husband of the lady that I built the lady wade saddle for All the leather came from Sheridan Leather.

Here is a lady wade I just finished a couple weeks ago. Built on a Nikkel tree. Still climbing the learning curve and will deffinitely change some things on the next one!

How about Pictures of Your Workshops
Elton Joorisity replied to Jordan's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Bruce, trust me it's there!! My TV has a built in cd/dyd player! And honestly there is more Don Edwards, Waddie Mitchell and Dave Stamey played in it than Kandace's but she still has her place in the stack!!! As for the coffee cup, it's my favorite. I picked it up in the C.M. Russel museum gift shop and I couldn't live without it if it vanished!! -

Barra, I came up with that mounting position because I also use it to tighten the knots on lariat ropes that I tie for customers. It worked out great for both uses!! -

Randy, It's definitely a tight fit for everything. Luckily with being a carpenter I have been able to scavenge some used cabinets! My 4X 8 table sits on two of the cabinets I have helped myself to. There's more stuff that I couldn't fit into the pics such as another set of shelves and my tree and skirting leather storage. Hey Brent, you wanna come set up a shop just like that for me?? I had planned to build one the same size and pretty much the same layout but life's curcumstances cancelled that idea. -

Jon, if you don't mind me asking, what degree are they and what is the handhole measurement?

Original bobbin winders seem pretty hard to find. Dad got an original with his machine and it's one of a few that I've actually seen.

saddle fit question
Elton Joorisity replied to STPENNER's topic in Choosing the Right Saddle for the horse(s)
Welcome aboard Pete! Not to hijack the thread but Pete is the fellow that told me about 14 yrs ago where to get flank trips. So if I have told anyone to order them from D.J. Assoc. you can all thank Mr. Hennessy -
Karl, my dad took the wax pot off of his machine. I'll see if he is willing to let it go.

Okay here goes... I CHEAT!! I buy a photo album at your local Wally World or where ever has the best deal. I then build the outer cover. Yes it is three separate pieces. I stitch the spine to the front and back covers (I also stitch an oversized piece of lining to the spine at the same time) then I stitch lining to the covers (these become pockets that I simply slide the album's covers into) and VOILA there you have it...I do them both ways ( this way and the way with screws through the spine)
