    Cord

Anyone on here have an idea of where to buy 2 ply yak hair and mohair cord CONSISTENTLY?? I am wanting to get back into building mecates but I hate spinning hair so this seems like the easy way.
  3. STELLAR job Mason!! I haven't used my pinking punch on anything but scrap since I got home. My price on them would be $550-$575 but I charge extra on top of base for the second color of fringe. I also charge for decorative stitching like you did on the tops. You are more than welcome for the punch. It's part of my way of saying thank you for helping me out on a few things here and there along my way.
  4. I shipped 6 bucking horse flanks from here to Great Falls for $45 and they probably weighed 25-35 lbs. I live 4 or so hours north of Calgary if that gives you an idea.
  5. I make quite a few of these and I like to use light weight skirting(10 oz or so) and a 5 oz latigo liner. I will try to send you a pattern this evening along with a mini tutorial.
  6. Ben, the Walsall buckles should be available through Sheridan Leather as they deal mainly in Walsall hardware. Give them a call and I'm sure they will be able to help you out. They also have the Superior buckles and a few other choices in stock.
  7. Steve, NO I DID NOT steal the idea from you. All of dad's harness patterns were done on crazy carpets and I just fell into using them too! I'll buy you a vitamin "P" or too anyways.
  8. I start out drawing my patterns on poster board. When I am happy with them I trace them on to Crazy Carpets(Whacky Carpets) which if you don't know are for sliding down snowy hills on. HEHE. They are very cheap to buy and you can get a lifetime of use out of them. They aren't very thick and are easy to cut with anything
  9. Sounds like typical "wet goat" smell to me!!
  10. Jim, I can't wait to meet the two of you in Sheridan!! That's one talented duo!!
  11. I know a few of us that use the same sort of product to wrap our fingers up here. It's a green cloth tape sold at a store called Lee Valley Tools. I'm sure there has to be something like it down south of the border. If not then vet wrap works fine too. I have tender fingers no matter how calloused and this tape is tough enough to prevent torn up fingers.
  12. Can anyone on here help me find a good source of pin vise chucks?
  13. Steve, I'll take 5. How does a guy book a booth under that wonderful white tent fulla BS er ah I mean Saddle Makers??
  14. Todd, keep diggin around in here and you'll find more of my work. I'll have 2 saddles to post when I get back from Sheridan. Also a couple more pairs of chaps and chinks.
  15. I noticed at the start of this post a little bit about the "red paper clip" Here's the best part. The house that he ended up getting is in my hometown! I was raised in Kipling Saskatchewan and that house is right beside the barber shop where I'd get my hair cut all through the 20 some years that I lived there.
  16. Thought we would have seen a lot more pix by now! You don't get much uglier than me people!! Don't be afraid( unless there are outstanding warrants)
  17. So THAT'S what you look like without sunglasses!! I like the deer in the headlights look!!
  18. I'll More than likely be wearing this shirt one of the days so if you can't find me until then I guess you'll just have to wait!! And as far as Candace well I guess you'll have to find her by hearing her beautiful voice at the Sheridan Leather BBQ!!!!!
  19. I keep wreckin cameras but I assure that I will get one posted unless I start wreckin computers
  20. This had been brought up a while ago but with things getting closer I thought I'd jog everyone's memory. I think that it would be a great idea if we (those of us attending Sheridan) could post a picture of ourselves along with our real names ( unless you go by your real name) so that we can see one another and know who they are without asking.
  21. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the overlayed conchos. I have a bucnh of silversmithing equipment and intend to get at it in the near future.
