  2. Yes the hook is there to help hold the holster in your pocket when drawing. You wanna see some mice holsters look at robertmeco's website. Bro Tim
  3. Thank you for the advice. I checked out the site you suggested. It inspired me to just get off my duff and try it!! It worked out pretty well. I posted a photo in the " show off" section of this forum. It was my first one, won't be the last. Again thank you for your input, Bro Tim
  4. Hey Folks!, A few days ago I asked around here on the forum about pocket holster designs. I gained a little insight and went to work. This is what I come up with. I began with a nice piece of Herman Oak 6/7 oz Veg Tan. Nice stuff, thanks Springfield Leather! Anyway, here's a few pics, Bad Cell phone pics but I think you can get the idea. I've never made one of these little buggers before but, i'm sure it wont be the last now. Thanks for looking! Bro Tim
  5. Hey Folks! I'm about to attempt to undertake a first for me. I've gone to carrying a small beretta tip-up barrel auto in my front pocket. I've never made one or even thought about making a pocket holster. I'd like to construct a pocket holster for its protection and mine. Meaning, protect the gun but be easy to draw from while in the pocket, comfortable and non-printing for better concealment. So calling on those that have done this. Sewn "hooks" and/or "flap"?? Other ideas?? Anything would be helpful. Many Thanks, Bro TIM
  6. Oh I had forgotten about the epoxy clay mixture. I've used it in the past for a few things. Hmmm... Memory must be getting weak as well. Bro Tim
  7. Nice job! love the color. Wow lots of stitching Though. Keep it up. Bro Tim
  8. Yeah, Surgical tubing would be a better idea than the vinyl for sure! Thanks for the idea.
  9. Gabriel, My nerve damage causes me to do the "Jazz Hands Dance" too. The pain is enough I have to psych myself up to work some because I know its gonna hurt for a long time but.... Id like to see that device if it materializes. Also, thank you for serving. My son in law was shipped back from AFG about 8-9 week ago for injuries sustained on a mission. Luckily he'll heal completely and be back at it in a year, he's on temp light duty until then. WinterBear, Thats some interesting stuff. It's amazing to way it molds and reusable to boot! I think I may try that. Thanks for the idea. Bro Tim
  10. Hello all, I have had surgery on both my hands several times over the last 20 yrs. I also have much less strength for holding onto small diameter stamping tools. The shanks can slip causing a mistake on the leather pattern I'm trying to create. I'm thinking if I were to increase the shank size of some of my smaller tools it might be easier to hold them. The only question is how. I've considered maybe rubber heat shrink tubing or a vinyl tube slid over it. Anyone else have an issue and how have you dealt with it? Any one have ideas? thx, Bro Tim
  11. Hello all, I'm looking for anyone with firsthand real world use knowledge of the Tech-Sew 2700. I'm considering their machine but wanted to hear from users. Yes, I have watched the video. Is the 2 layers of belt material bring sewn represent the maximum realistic load to be sewn on this model? Is there a better alternative? I dont want to sew 1oz stuffs but may want to sew a little heavier than what is shown in their videos. Ideas because my hands cant handle sewing these collars and leashes much more. Thx Bro Tim
  12. I too was going to make my own miracle felt wheel burnisher but can not find the material to cut the rounds from to make an arbor set from. Richard black has a video on youtube showing how to make the set. Included is info about making a 2" punch to cut them with. Tim
  13. Did you find it on an online auction or somewhere else?
  14. Yeah, I really want to see them too!
