  1. I bought the neutral edge paint as well, and I plan to use dye underneath it. But I haven't really decided which projects need gum trag and which projects need edge paint. Or if you do gum trag, then edge paint. Gah. Or if you resign yourself to a lot of sanding. It does seem as if the fenice edge paint needs a lot of sanding.
  2. Thanks RiverCity and Eddie - you guys have mad tooling skills, and RiverCity, I've always admired your cases. TBoyce - very kind of you, thank you! I think you'll be impressed at how fast you can start making the things that you think are cool.
  3. Thank you, Andy! Yes, I know what you mean; every time I've made a backpack, I've liked the backpack, but found once I completed it that it's not really what I was going for, or what I would personally want to carry around. I still haven't decided which backpack I would want for myself. Maybe I'm not a backpack person, and I just haven't realized it yet. I think my favorite is actually my sister's - (http://monicajacobson.com/?p=869) - but that could be because I didn't make it myself, so I'm not as critical.
  4. Nice, Andy! I love your style. And your photography style, I think that helps make it look even better.
  5. Dan, they are getting better and better. Great job on it! The handles look great, and I like how her name is covered up, but there when it's open.
  6. Congrats, i wish I could say the same. I also wouldn't mind being on your Christmas list, seeing that stuff.
  7. Sweet!
  8. Cool! I love the shape.
  9. Cool! I really love dragon scale stuff. Like this mandolin: http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?110227-Dragon-Yin-Yang-Mandola&highlight=dragon Anyway, I haven't really put in the work to do it well, but it's on my to-do list, some time. Looks like you are well on your way!
  10. Heh, yeah, unfortunately the mandolin market is much smaller than the violin market.
  11. Thanks, I appreciate the kind words!
  12. LOL, thanks!
  13. Huh, rather cool! I wonder how well it works.
  14. Very nice! Cool additions, I think.
  15. Thanks Corey! Actually, I think you can make a decent profit (as a hobby, I have no experience with leatherworking as a full time job), but first you have to get past the initial expense of tool buying and the learning curve.
  16. Hi Corey, welcome to the forum! I think that's how a lot of us came to leatherworking, and certainly that's how I started. Leather is awesome, and I couldn't afford what I liked, so I started making the leather stuff I wanted because I could make it cheaper. Frankly, it wasn't cheaper in the end, but if you get good enough, you can definitely make the money back pretty quickly. Besides, it's so much fun, it's worth the money you throw at it. Good luck!
  17. It looks good to me; I like how you stitched around all the slots. Yes, please post pics of your telecaster when you finish!
  18. Very cool! The brass is sweet.
  19. Ha, sorry for my spastic questions. Thanks for the pictures of the inside, I think it's very cool. I love the addition of the horse-hardware.
  20. Quite cool!
  21. Sweet bag! Isn't that horse halter hardware? What is it lined with? Do you have some pictures of the inside? What kind of leather is the outside? I really like your work, great job!
  22. Ha, fun. I like how it turned out kind of Greek/Trojan.
  23. I love the irises. Lovely belt!
