  1. Art, Thank you very much for all your help. I've got three new presser foot sets on the way! Kevin
  2. Okay, I'm sorry if I sound dumb, but let me clarify. If I have cording core that is 1/8" and am wrapping it with leather that is 1/16' thick, what size welting foot do i need?
  3. Thanks for the info, I am smarter now than I was a couple of minutes ago! You know what they say: If your not learning something everyday, your dead. Anyway, I was wondering if you could help me out with what size to get. Do I buy a 1/8 inch if i have 1/8 cording or do I buy larger to account for thickness of leather?
  4. anyone know where i can find a cording foot for a juki 1541?
  5. I also doesn't hurt to live in Malibu and know rock stars that will buy your stuff
  6. Okay, I know its a brand/designer, status thing, but I still cant help but think, what the!!! I listed a handmade bag for $160 and got nothing. I did however sell it locally for 160, so no biggie. I am going to try an experiment. Let me know if anyone has already tried this. I am going to make a clean simple shiny bag and list on ebay for $4300. If no one buys oh well, it was an experiment. If it sells, well, woohooo! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A:IT&ih=012 Its pre-owned!

  8. this is an experimental piece. My sisters buell is to tall for her so i trimmed the heck out of the foam. The blue insert is 3-4 oz tooling with my KK stamp all over, black is leather, and roughout sides. White contrast stitching.
  9. those look real nice don. Are they hand stitched or machine? If they are machine, what kind do you use? I curious because my machine leaves presser foot and feed dog marks, even with presure as low as it'll go.
  10. I think ebay is a great place to sell an already popular product. But trying to create a market on ebay is a whole other story. Ebayers generally are searching for a specific item, rather than just shopping. Example: I use to own and operate a screen printing company. The "Vote for Pedro" t-shirts would sell like crazy, but any original designs i would come up with didn't go as fast. So something like cell cases and ipod covers and "quick" production pieces are for ebay. Word of mouth and top of mind awareness for the big ticket items. There is also a science to selling succesful on ebay, from how you name your product to what catagories you list in.
  11. thats some nice tooling work bro.
  12. Thanks for the compliments. The dark brown is just airbrushed.
  13. thanks for the compliments guys. Don, you betcha. It was a little time consuming to do the dyeing. David, this seat is for a sportster. Abn, I cut the lines with a swivel knife, then beveled both sides of the lines.
  14. If you have photoshop and a scanner, why not just resize in photoshop?
  15. No sleep. I'll work on one project until i get tired, put it up so i dont make any "tired mistakes". But then I think, "I have time to try _______." An be up till two or three am. Once i get started on something....You know the rest.
  16. how big does pigskin come? cus this piece of leather was pretty darn big. Thanks for the compliments
  17. I kinda feel like i'm taking up alot of space here. Should I use the same thread and just keep posting there, or always start a new one? Anyway, this one is for my wife. Roughout 3-4 oz tooling leather dyed red with tan roughout mystery leather (they didnt know what it was at the leather shop). The lining and outer design is asian brocade inside out. White contrast stitching.
  18. I am wanting to do some designs which require me to stitch designs in the leather. My question is: What can i use to draw the design on the leather that will come off after the design is stitched? I have tried chalk, and one of those white fabric pencils, but neither seem to want to show up on the leather. Any suggestions?
  19. exactly! thats why i'd like to have a roller foot machine.
  20. Thanks for the nice words. I use a Juki 1541 but would love to have a post type machine with a roller foot.
  21. This is the most elaborate piece I have done. Red ostritch print cowhide, ostritch leg overlay, lambskin/ostritch print pocket flaps, lambskin binding, asian blue dragon brocade lining, and white contrast stitching. I also took some pics throughout the build for a tutorial if anyone is interested. Of course all you guys probably already know how to do all this stuff. I'm still learning. Again, thanks for looking
