  1. Try Wickett & Craig in Curwensville, PA
  2. Nothing but excellent service at Springfield Leather...this is where I get pretty much all my supplies, except for my veg tanned sides and they come from Wickett & Craig.
  3. After wet forming a holster and letting it dry, I apply a light coat of Montana Pitch Blend...let it sink in for an hour and then buff... there is very little rub off. I then apply 1 to 4 light coats of Renaissance Wax Polish, buffing between each coat. For M1907 Rifle Slings I dip dye and the after it is dry, I apply a light coat of Belvoir Leather Balsam, wait 10 to 15 minutes until dry, then buff until there is no rub off--then comes the Renaissance Wax Polish...1 to 4 coats, buffing between each coat.
  4. +1 on what Ken said...give Cowboy Bob a call...he might have some used machines...at the very least he can give you some good advice on what you need. By the way, customer service is great at Bob's shop...he is always willing to help.
  5. I tried one time...not a good idea...I don't know if I didn't seal it well enough or did not let it dry long enough...but what a h#** of a mess...just through it in trash and never tried it again.
  6. If your asking if this sewing machine will fit your needs...it's hard to say without knowing what make/model number it is. If your sewing by hand..it just takes time to do it right...on the bright side you will get faster with practice. You might want to check out the Tippman BOSS..this is a manual sewing machine...they are sometimes listed on here at reasonable prices.
  7. Don't think so...just tried to look him up on ebay and no results were found.
  8. This is what I do also. Or use double sided tape to hold them together while you sand to true up the edges.
  9. Check out www.dotfasteners.com for different sizes...they do have a minimum order...I think it is $100...but don't hold me to it.
  10. Pm sent.
  11. Welcome
  12. It's amazing how all of us gray haired people survived before all these government regulations....hope the kids growing up now are as lucky as we were. I guess big brother knows best..NOT!!!! This kind of BS just P@##$% me off. Maybe they should make you sign a waiver and pass a test to ride a bicycle too.
  13. I got mine from Gray Ghost also...or I should say I have gotten two from him.
  14. John James needles...Size 0 (1/0)...you can find them on ebay. Very good needles. 15. Ohio Travel Bag is where I get mine...they only have solid Brass in 1 inch and 1.25 inches.
  16. I would say yes it is fake--unless a very thin leather was laminated to the fabric that it is peeling off of....I'm not sure, I'm only guessing. Maybe someone with more knowledge can help out better than me.
  17. That's really nice...good job.
  18. If you still have the burnisher set, I would be interested. Send me a PM. PM sent to you.
  19. I don't know...it might be where they were made...shoot Bruce a PM, I'm sure he will be able to tell you...when I bought mine, he just picked one out and sent it to me. If you get one from him, be careful..I cut myself the first time I used it...real deep cut on the pad of my thumb and did not feel it until I saw all the blood on the leather and bench.
  20. Bruce has some older Osborne for around $45 or so...that is the type I got from him...works great and comes with a razor sharp blade...that only needs stroping from time to time to keep it sharp. If you want a plough guage..you are talking big bucks.
  21. Go to Bruce Johnson's Web site...he is a member here and has quit a few for sale. To find his site Google Bruce Johnson tools.
  22. For straps...belly stretches too much...
  23. I had the same thing happen...someone bought a bunch of stuff from a Home Depot in Kansas and then some stuff from Home Depot on line...they tried to scam a card I don't use except for hunting supplies. Bank was really good about it when I called them, they closed the account and I had a new card in about a week.
