  1. Looks like they are doing a fist bump...very hip of them
  2. Thanks Wild Bill. Although I'm native Californian, I lived for almost two years in Columbus, Georgia as a kid. I have such fold memories of that time! Just loved it!! I see you're interested in motorcycles...me too. I have a Road Glide. Do you ride??
  3. Very funny - and very clever!!
  4. Great tips K - I'm a beginner too, so I appreciate your helpful hints. I absolutely agree with your last point..."Do stuff". I've learned alot experimenting on projects. Though, I've kept the my projects on the smaller side while building my confidence.
  5. Howdy Vicki, Thanks for the feedback. Once stamping and tooling was complete, I painted a resist on the cross, then used waterbased acorn stain over all leather. After dry, dyed inside black, then painted black. Lastly, spayed with saddle lac finish for glossly protection.
  6. In my town's Walmart, I found the 6oz flasks hanging on a merchandizing strip down the alcohol aisle. Very inexpensive.
  7. Your work is amazing. Keep the uploads coming...they are very inspirational. Hobbihorse

...well, you sure have a handle on the saddle making part!!
  10. Howdy, Peter - At my Walmart, the stainless steel flasks are on the alcohol aisle hanging from a merchandizing strip. Kracker - Thanks so much for your kind comment. Josiamd - If I get a good tight fit, I do not cement the leather to the flask. However, if it's a loose fit, I cement. Respectfully, Hobbihorse
  11. Thank goodness, just got word the gal who requested the cat flask absolutely loves it.
  12. HaHa...Welcome! I got the bug when hubby bought me a Tandy's beginners kit for my Bday. Now we no longer have a kitchen table...it is my work station!
  13. Thank you. I appreciate the feedback!

  17. Hi Peter, I buy my 6oz flasks at Walmart, and the 4 oz flasks on ebay.
  18. Howdy, Attached are pics of another couple of covered flasks. One is a whimsical cat flask for a gal who loves tabbys. The other is an image of a western holster. For some reason the folks I hang with requests lotz of flasks...perhaps that says alot about my friends - Haha! Check out some of my other flasks...http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?app=gallery&album=2394

    Nice Job!!
  20. Great Job. Very clever!!
  21. HaHa...I got my 6oz flasks from Walmart as well. I purchased the 4oz flasks that are also pictured on ebay, though I don't remember the vendor. They cost a little more than the Walmart flasks, but are a better quality. There are several venders to choose from.
  22. Hi Lori, I measured the height and circumference of the flasks and used that measurement to cut the leather, then trimmed it up to fit. If I cut to short to join the edges in back, I would cut a strip of leather and stitch both sides to fill in the gap (like I did on the back of one of my pictured flaskes http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?app=gallery&user=43733 with the name "Rose" down the strip).
  23. The Christmas crunch is on - Got lotsa projects on the burner.
