  1. Why not list what you have as a whole hard to think of spending 10K and not knowing going in. I for one could buy it but not willing to travel to TX. But I would want to know as much able it before I even gave it a strong thought. I can buy what I need for that amount, may not get what is offered here but I know what I am getting. As long as the post has been up you could post most of what you are offering then maybe two or three people would go together on it> Just .02 from my end.
  2. I would try small sponge not as wide as the leather, ring sponge out very dry and wipe a pass down the middle liter than you would normally and let it set in the shop. You could dampen the leather with water first so it soaks up the oil slower. I sun tan and it looks like maybe to much oil, try a couple of scraps. the reason is said down the middle cause your not going to get it on the edges and the oil will migrate through out the leather. Camano Ridge is good at this but you have to try thing till they work for you.
  3. Very nice as always and your video does help many.
  4. Could it be you are putting to much oil on or letting the sun hit it.

  9. About any permanent ink marker that will work with your stamping, wide thin medium line let it dry good your ready to go
  10. Does anyone know the name of the slit knot that use to be used on the old reins. I can't remember I think you made the slit and twisted the area of the slit and ran the long part of the rein inside out of the bit. Any help would be appreciated. Don't remember but we used these a lot in the 70s.
  11. Dogs do see about 20/75-80 which is not clear compared to people 20/20-40, but do have very better peripheral vision at 250 deg to people with 190 this is because of there eye placement on their heads generally. Tell your client that it will be a lot of work in keeping anything on the dog as they will be distracted till trained to wear the blinders. Hope some of this will help you understand the challenge, I would do some checking with aid that Greyhound racers use for training.
  12. This color will take many coats 4 or more would be my guess (kind of like yellow takes many coats) dry and rub between cost.
  13. I would try a test with Oxalic Acid or Lemon juice from a real lemon, and see what it does to the lace. You'll need to oil it as it will dry out from the wash.
  14. Take a look on pinterest for the patterns they have a few there good luck.
  15. If you like the Xacto you may want to look at the #3 knife handle it has a heavier blade.
  16. Remembering the sharpness of a glover needle through deer hide and how much blood it causes from the finger tip.
  17. I to am trying to learn the art of leather work. After 3 back surgeries and arthritis in both hands, the pain at time is bad enough you just have to walk away to start again later, and being in my 60s this is something that I love to do gives me a peace of mind. I know I'll never be as good as I once could have been but I am as good as I can be. One more into the educational bin, but after 8 months still having fun learning and keeping the little pea moving around in the old hat rack. Just remember everyone will have good bad and ugly days (pieces). Have Fun , Enjoy , Life is to Short , we all have had goals, some reached others we are searching for keep looking and you will never fail.
  18. It's Our Birthday Happy 4th. Remember If you see or know a Veteran Thank Them for Your Freedom and their Sacrifice. Not for just the figthing but for being there when we need them ( floods- storms- earthquakes ), Being away from their families to serve, for having Pride in America. Have a Great Day!!
