    I just had this conversation with someone- that shoemakers and saddlemakers are like the surgeons and cardiologists of leatherworkers. (She works in the medical field and understood the analogy)

    For many of us, this was the first leather instruction book we saw. Note the title. When you open it, it’s about “leatherwork”. What do you call it, and why?

    This is what we had before Al Stohlman and later, the internet. Thanks for sharing. This brings back some old memories of how little we had before the Reis family bought the Leathercrafters and Saddlers Journal, before the IFoLG. One of the oldest tradecrafts in the world, and it almost died out quietly, except for us diehard enthusiasts.

    @friquant I'm going to be going through Little Rock in two weeks going to the Heart of Texas show in Waco, sponsored by the Leathercrafters Journal. Wanna have a cup of coffee? There are some great people in Leather Land, and they are willing to share what they know so the next generation can learn.     There's an auto timer that merges posts made back to back. I think it's at 3 minutes? I'll have to check. It's to prevent clutter, from the old days when we had dial up connections and got interrupted, I suppose. Maybe tag each person you're replying to if it's in the same thread?

    I'd have to enable "can post html" for the member group, which looks like a huge security issue. I have it enabled for the mods and contributing members because they are unlikely to do malicious things with HTML. I can put you in that group if you promise not to break anything. hahahaha

    It seems that everyone but "members" has the source button. It looks like I need to do some tweaking. In the admin CP there are ways to customize the toolbars, but no source button to add. Somehow it must have remained in the legacy versions? I'll look into it more tonight.

    I have the "source" button. Checking to see if this is a browser or software issue. I see the source button on my phone and using Chrome.
