I'd have to enable "can post html" for the member group, which looks like a huge security issue. I have it enabled for the mods and contributing members because they are unlikely to do malicious things with HTML. I can put you in that group if you promise not to break anything. hahahaha -

It seems that everyone but "members" has the source button. It looks like I need to do some tweaking. In the admin CP there are ways to customize the toolbars, but no source button to add. Somehow it must have remained in the legacy versions? I'll look into it more tonight. -

I have the "source" button. Checking to see if this is a browser or software issue. I see the source button on my phone and using Chrome. -
A picture would really help. Some folks think they have leather when they really have fancy vinyl. Vinegar will often take an odor out of leather but I've never used it for stains. Upholstery leather is usually pretty resistant to staining unless it's ink. I wouldn't do anything to the stain without seeing how the chemical reacts on an inconspicuous piece of the leather, like underneath the couch. I'm pretty sure no matter what's going on, vinegaroon isn't the answer. ~J

I use a pic of Janis Joplin on X as my profile pic. The first song I learned off the radio as a kid was "Me and My Bobby McGee".

https://cindysinorartist.com/ Cindy Sinor is a talented colored pencil artist and accepts commissions. I thought you’d enjoy looking at her work.

The bell icon interprets a click with "Whew, I told the member everything that was going on!" It continues to list each notification so you can refer to them at any time. You can still click each item individually, or set up an activity stream to your interests. I get emails for my notifications, so sometimes my bell has a red number for a day or two until I go back and click it just to make sure I didn't miss or forget anything.

Removing stains on vinyl caused by leachhing from leather handles
Johanna replied to santabgirl's topic in How Do I Do That?
A picture would really help. We can't tell if the hardware or leather is bleeding, and we probably won't be able to help if the stains are on vinyl, but we'll try. -
It used to default to the first unread post. A few weeks ago the software wanted me to set a default and I chose "let user decide" instead of making it first post or first unread post. On multipage threads you can skip to the last page in one click. There are arrow symbols before and after page numbers.

It's funny how the whole world uses the metric system and Celsius (or is it centigrade?) and we Americans don't have a clue past 0 is freezing (32 for us).We can't calculate kilometers or meters. We automatically think a kilometer is less than a mile and a meter is more than a yard. We sorta know liquids because 2 liters is about a half gallon. If you ever smoked dope, you know there is about 28 grams in an ounce. We Americans can't picture a gram when we are looking at a bag of potato chips or a jar of nuts. We buy butter by the pound, gas by the gallon, and it's 737 miles from here to the beach in Charleston SC. My husband measures to 10,000 of an inch at his work, and he probably knows the metric equivalent, but my brain just says "really tight". I wonder how long America will hold out using the Imperial system (that we inherited from a country that has converted to metric) or if we'll ever get the world to switch back? All I know is that it's really cold at Northmount's house, probably less summer than my cousin has in Montana, and even colder. And the roses are beautiful. -
Adult area on Leatherworker.net

@fredk You will see that area unless I take you out of the super secret controversial forum. You have secondary permissions. If you want me to remove them, let me know. -
Adult area on Leatherworker.net
Johanna replied to Johanna's topic in Announcements and Administrivia
The NSFW area "Oh No, Don't Stop!" is password protected so the content does not show on activity feeds and recent posts. Just type "adult", sans quotes, and you're in. @BenOrsonLeather just posted a unique piece that made everyone remember we had an adult area again. Great work, Ben! I'm going back to work dealing with the spammers. ~J -
The adult forum "Oh No, Don't Stop!" is now password protected so that it doesn't show on activity streams and new posts etc. If you want in there, type "adult" sans quotes. I hope this solves the issue.

I'm having different results depending on how I'm logged in. I'm ready to bork that whole section, although it is legit leatherwork. I'm going to bed, and I'll look at it again in the morning with fresh eyes.
-
You can also customize your activity stream to see only what you want and eliminate clutter you're not interested in.
-
I think I got it fixed. Please check to make sure the post from 6 hours ago does not show in your activity stream. You may need to log out and log back in.

I'm not sure what happened yet, but obviously something broke in the permissions. I'll get it fixed ASAP.

I did one of those admin "Log everyone out at once" moves this morning, so that was probably me, but I had to get it to stop. Northmount, Alzilla & Wiz do a great job zapping spammers that get past me, but this morning was an attack. We have things under control again. I am fortunate to have such good help. ~J -

I don't care who you voted for or what you support. The CFM section is not for "conservatives". The "C" is for "controversial" which was what that whole forum turned into instead of leather conversation. There are a dozen people with access, and it doesn't show to anyone else.

I project this project will be done next month. I was always glad I learned English first because to dive into this as ESL student would be a nightmare of memorization of tradition, not logical rules. Kinda like gallons and miles, compared to liters and meters. German is logical, Russian has rules, French and Spanish are easier if you've got some Latin background, but English makes it up as it goes along.
