  1. I just answered these questions kinda generically, and I;m glad you asked, Clay, because if you were wondering, others are too. If anyone has more questions or I need to clarify (or fix some bug I haven't noticed yet) your feedback in valuable. We want this gallery to perform perfectly, of course, and be easy to use. We all seem to like looking at the pics. Johanna
  2. This Spring I met this down-to-earth tall hippy dude at Sheridan who had some of the most usual exotic leathers I've ever seen. He took the time to explain a little about some of the ones that really caught my eye, and was very friendly. I just got off of the phone with him- he has relocated from California to Idaho where he is catching 20 lb. trout when he's not busy with leather related jobs. He says he's got a large selection of leathers available. His name is Jerry. Phone is: (208) 785-0800 jerry@vanamburgleathers.com He does a lot of custom work, so he can advise you how to get the most out of exotics like stingray, elephant, frogs, snakes, and animals you would never guess they would make leather from. Here is his site: http://vanamburgleathers.com/blogpics/ just ignore the CA info. If you contact him, tell him Johanna from Leatherworker.net sent you. Johanna
  3. It's "brain bleach" for when you see or hear something that you need removed from your head.
  4. Curtis- They are the interiors for checkbooks, wallets, clutch purses etc. You know, where all the tiny pockets are for credit cards and your drivers license and stuff. CF makes the insides, you carve or stamp an outside piece of leather and sew them together. You get a professional looking piece you can still claim as "made -by-hand", but you don't have to make the guts, which is time consuming. Johanna
  5. I heard shingles are brought on by stress, so you should probably invite your sis to come take care of you... (ducks and runs really fast!) Have you consulted with the medical consortium yet? Has my mom seen you? Let us know what we can do. Love ya cuz, Johanna
  6. I had the chance to examine Keith's display at Sheridan, and the interiors looked well constructed and designed, as always. I would have preferred more natural colors, but maybe that's just what he brought to the show? Years ago we bought C-F interiors because wallet guts take a lot of time and careful stitching to make by hand. The C-F were higher priced than the alternatives back then, but the quality was superior. I can't think of too many companies that even make interiors these days- perhaps someone out there knows other sources? That might be a good niche market for someone with a sewing machine and patience. Johanna
  7. Another piece that will look better every day as it ages. Love the detail and the bright colors combined with the natural brown beauty of the leather. Nice accent cuts esp in the green leaves. Okay, Ed, you have another fan. Johanna
  8. Kevin Hopkins at Springfield Leather was considering carrying them- give him a call first. Johanna
  9. And all this time I thought you were a toolmaker...had no idea how nicely you carve and tool, too! Lovely job on the Bible and the other work in your gallery. ~Johanna
