  1. You got a website? I may be forwarding to my wife for our anniversary!!!
  2. Ok. FIne. I'll buy one.............seriously though that's very nice for keeping things organized.
  3. Very good work. I would also put the "Just in Case" on the holster too. haha!
  4. Thanks all. The part that looks yellow in the pictures isn't as yellow in front of you, but kind of reminds me of stained pine. My wife really liked the look as well.
  5. It's looks nice. Could look older though. You could throw it in the oven and let it dry out. 100 year old leather looks dry and brittle. I have a 60 year old leather Sears small utility case and it looks very old.
  6. Impressive. I woudn't even know where to start with a project like this. I may get the courage to make a bag one day.
  7. Yes, I agree. My first holster has the white stitching and it does look pretty good. However on my first one I noticed when I did the wet molding after dye it sort of faded in some spots, not much but it didn't have that nice dark brown it started out with. It could have been how much water I or the dye wasn't all that dry yet, not really sure. I'm still in the experimental stages, but on the second one I did the wet molding before and then just dyed. I did debate on whether to dye before or after stitch.
  8. Thanks. That's what I'm working on now, but waiting for my edge-kote to arrive.
  9. Here is my second holster. Fits an M & P Shield. I have it lined on both side inside. applied some acrylic resolene to the background and then dyed it with eco-flow acorn brown. Fits nice and tight and I feel I have improved a little bit more from my first one. Especially on the fit in relation to the gun.
  10. Very nice. I especially like the sheath. I assume that is a horizontal style of wear. anyways, I'm too new to critique your work, but I can see why your friends or family don't, you already do a great job.
  11. Thanks. Yeah, the muzzle protruding and obstruction is something I think I got figured out now on my 2nd holster I'm working on. I'll keep this one like this for a while. It's too nice to set aside. Haha!
  12. Thanks. I have another coming for a tad larger pistol but I am uping my ante on this one and attempting some very simple airbrush dye application. Just lined on the back piece. I actually ran out and I just chocked it off as no one will ever see that side. on a side note. I dyed that lining black.
  13. how do you do the edges like that? looks great BTW
  14. So I set out to make myself a holster for a new pistol I purchased. I am a total newb but having the willingness to learn anything. Let me know how I did and how I can get better. After finishing I made some of my own observations: Try next to be more uniform in my stitch line with the edge of leather. However I know what some parts are thinner and that was having trouble cutting the front and back piece to match exactly. Also bring in the stitch tighter on the trigger guard section. That's easily fixed by trimming my template. Anyways, hope you enjoy the pics and thanks for looking. I look forward to making some more. I drew up the design on a piece of paper and then transferred it to the leather and starting cutting and stamping away.
  15. Thanks for the reply. I'm going to give it a shot. I found an inexpensive one to test the waters with.
  16. The holster is great, but like others have said, Wow that mag pouch is something else!
  17. Very nice. I'm about to dive into making holster and was curious about this vacuum lock bags. It looks it, but do you feel it did a fair job and molding around the pistol? meaning that the retention is evident? Thanks
  18. Little bit about myself. Born and raised in Texas as well as my father who grew up loving hand tooled/crafted leather goods that passed down the love for it to me too. As much as he loved it and I love it...the skill was never learned or honed. Just a few weeks ago I purchased a small starter kit with a swivel knife and started going at it. All I can say is that I really really enjoy it. I think this will be something I see myself doing for awhile. I just hope I get as good as those pro saddlemakers. This is my second piece to hand tool and what this is is a small pocket holster.
