  1. Right, Oakley! 332 needle system is for the Adler 30-1
  2. It must be made into a ladies saddle!
  3. The outside foot only moves up and down, not forward and backwards. If it doesn´t move up and down there is a problem.
  4. What an excellent tool. I´m gonna make me one tomorrow! Thank´s Bruce
  5. There is an article on Paniolo saddles in the latest copy of The saddlers and leathercrafters journal, written by Pete Gorrell
  6. The first version made of iron and steel parts were good machines. The "upgraded" version mede of aluminum and zink inner parts is almost worthless, a piece of shit! I have had both models.but sold them and bought a real good Adler 205.
  7. (I don´t think there will appear any bubbles from the rawhide, as it does not contain any air like leather does.) Soak it in wateruntil it is pliable, then stretch it and let it dry. Get a can of Vaquero rawhide cream and work it into the rawhide when almost dry.
  8. I would call it a miracle if I can find one copy, Frank! Knut
  9. Potato starch will help. Let it absorb the excessive oil and brush it away
  10. I am looking for a book : Santa Fe and Mother Hubbard saddles by Ed Skobalski Ragards / Knut
  11. Saddle trees delivered at my door today! Thank you!
  12. Swedish ? Lucky you!
  13. I would definetly choose an old steel draw gauge. I have had an aluminum draw gauge and the threads in the metal wore out after a while.
  14. What is the main difference between a horsetree and a mule tree? Nice saddle BTW Knut
  15. A tool to make lacing holes
  16. It is a clickers knife, (shoe makers tool) according to the Dictionary of leatherworking tools / Knut
  17. You could also use a tree from Bowden: Old Time Slick fork, which will make a period correct saddle.
  18. Timberline saddle trees Inc. has a tree they call Meana. They can make anything you want!
  19. I think the stroke of the bicycle bolt is too short. The jaws of the stitching pony won´t open enough to be useful. The wooden version looks better. / Knut
  20. Tor.
  21. Hej! Snyggt jobb! var håller du hus? / Knut
  22. H Thor. I read on the bottle of the "magic solution" and it contains citric acid and phosporus acid ( citron -och fosforsyra) . The rust just disappeared in half a minute. The splitter is Swedish made . I already have one that is exactly the same, so I guess I´ll sandblast this one and give it a new paintjoband try to sell it. /Knut
  23. Thor, look what I found last weekend: a plough gauge almost identical to yours, plus a german? made round knife. I guess they are made by the same maker as the handles are identical ( I had to shorten the round knife handle to remove a crack, and to make it fit my hand better) The round bar on the plough gauge was corroded so the brass outer layer was destroyed. This morning I turned a new solid brass bar so it is now like new. The round knife was very rusty but I brought it to my friend, the gold smith, and he had a "miracle solution" that removed the rust completely in a couple of seconds. The knife is now sharpened and ready for duty. I paid ~80$ for the lot / Knut PS Tha lady also gave me a hand crank splitter for free! Not in the best condition, but... it can get a new life
