  1. Nice background. What tool did you use for that?
  2. Have not seen that black atom wax product. Where can I buy it?
  3. Hey Guys, Haven't posted n a while. Some of you may know my work. I mostly do wallets, cuffs, and belts. I am working on a tool bag for a customer. Nothing new but haven't done one like this. First off the customer wanted me to match an existing saddle bags basket weave. He sent me a photo and luckily enough I had the tool for the job. I picked up some veg tan from tandy that is about 9/10 oz. I dyed it all black with Fiebings Pro Oil dye. How should I finish this bag to look good the longest out doors? I didn;t get to know the customer well enough to understand how much he rode. he could be one of those once a month riders and the bag may only see day light every now and then but I like to put my pride in everything I do and need to know that this tool bag will be lookin good and functional in years to come. How do you guys finish veg tan dyed for the outdoors? Thanks! Travis Poole Bad Love Leather
  4. So where did you get that nice textured brown leather on that Fantastic lookin belt?
  5. I encourage you to buy a cheap wallet and make your own pattern. For the silver. Look for a Silver Smith to create your own custom snaps. All this makes your work more your own. Not like everyone elses.
  6. OK, so where do we get the Bickmore (bick4) product from?
  7. As soon as I decide what tanning solution I'm gonna use that will be the next video. Right now its a toss up between Rittels and a Tandy kit. Tandy is just down the road from me BUT Rittels seems like the more Pro way to do it. Does anyone have any Tanning Kit buying advice?
  8. Rattle Snake Skinnin I skinned a Rattle Snake the other night. Since I've never posted videos you guys will have to let me know if this works! Thanks, T
  9. The aligator I work with is like this. You have to trim those hairs of flesh with scissors and get as many off as possible. I use barge glue and that will hold almost anything down. Where are you gettin tanned neck?
  10. Actually your photos are almost there. Your getting good resolution from your camera. they come out blurry because there isn;t enough light. if you put more incandescent or florescent light on your work and set the light setting on your camera (setting is usually associate with an icon that looks like a light bulb or a florescent tube) it will take a better photo. When these smaller cheaper (not a bad thing) cameras don;t have enough light the take a slower exposure which requires a steady hand. Most people don't have a steady hand for this. if you want that "Subdued" light effect, try putting your camera on a tripod or setting it on something that will not move ans set up the timer. You may be surprised at your results. Keep looking into learning more about your camera and paly withthe light some more. Your belt looks great!
  11. This is a belt I made that I'm going to be selling at the next motorcycle show in Ventura.
  12. Theres actually a tool for that. I got mine at the local leather place I buy from. TLC might have them.
  13. .bossy looking thing.. LOL. That made me laugh. Funny enough. Your right. I took a pole amongst the ladies present on Anarchy Wednesday last night and the collective opinion is that this is better suited for the ladies then the dudes. They were referring to it as a clutch more so than a wallet. I wish I had pockets big enough to carry this myself. Oh Well. It will make a new customer stoked. Kevin, I made this out stuff I had layin around. I do that with most of my stuff at this point. I don;t get too much custom orders just yet.
  14. Finished this lastnight. Its Heavy Duty! Caiman Gator. Frog Skin inner Cash Pocket. Kangaroo CC pockets with Ostrich leg. Heavy 1/4 black lace.
  15. Yea Joe Angel would be rollin over in his grave. I have one of the original HA Leather vests. Its a Vest not a Cut. A cut implies that the sleeves were cut off. Right? But then again thats my opinion. Great Lookin vest. You saved yerself $250 to $300. Nice job!
  16. I use a water based silver ball point pen that I get at the art store. It shows up well on anything dark and I can wipe it off with a damp sponge. Any specialty art store or even Office Depot will have these. Make sure you test it first on something non cash critical!
  17. Yea smoking a cig while doing this would be a bad idea.
  18. OK. So where can I find either one of these solutions? Also, Is this something i can put in myself or do I need to have a sewing machine technician install it?
  19. I was discussing sewing machines with a leather worker in Cottonwood AZ this past weekend and he told me about an attachment called a Reducer I could get for my Singer 111 to make it slower. I'm new to using this machine and its powerful and fast. I've been practicing with the pedal and trying to get a groove goin but its too fast. Does anyone know about this possible solution? Thanks in Advance Travis Poole Bad Love Leather
