  1. I like your idea. I know the pain. I've had several pair of clears and sunglasses get eaten by the constant vibration of the saddlebag. One suggestion to your spec's box: It would look cool if you tooled the flap identically like the box so when its closed it looks complete. Make Sense?
  2. Thats why I advocate Dog wallets. Trust me if i could make some wallets outa some of the people in my life that proverbially chew my spirit i would. I like your Sheridan carving. I'm a big admirer of that stuff. You do it well. Oh, and don;t make a wallet outa your dog.
  3. Wheres the ciggarrette? Hey wait a minute! Thats not Camel Joe! Funny i thought all Camels smoked.
  4. Are you guys using a rivet gun to secure the leather to the bottom of the seat pan? Do you need to drillholes first? Does the gun do that?
  5. OK. Makes sense as the stock seat was too cushy to begin with. I'd like to shoot for something in the stiffness catagory of Corbin. AND I'd be willing to use that damn electric knife I got as a wedding gift. Since my wife split I won;t have to hear the crabbin about usin kitchen utensils for my leather work!!! So, Closed Cell foam is the trick? Is there a specific brand or type?
  6. I'm gonna try recovering my stock Road King Seat as its seen over 80k worth of miles and I'm looking to bust my seat cherry. Where do I get new foam from? I'd like to tear my pre existing seat down to the pan and completely style something new. i just don;t know where to begin with the foam issue. Any suggestions? Travis Bad Love Leather
  7. What was the base skin you used? is that one of Spiders Skulls?
  8. I like the photo of the Mauls. It shows there was a precursor to the Barry King that I own today
  9. Great Stuff. I need to bring that stuff to the next "Meeting" at work. Something tells me that my ideas would be a little more worth listening to!!!
  10. That lace looks pretty meaty. Did you make it yourself?
  11. With most of the stuff I make i shoot on my bench. I bought a piece of thicker card stock that i put a soft bend in for a background. I use the same lights I work with. They're Sylvania True light bulbs. 150 watt. For me they provide the whitest light without spending a bunch of cash on lights. I use a small Canon SD550 digital elph. I use the manual mode with macro setting on and usually set the white point on the camera to incandescant. (light bulb icon) I set the camera as close as possible and use my tripod. Note: i do have a Canon that I use to shoot live music but have had less than desireable results with that camera. When the photo is done its almost perfect most of the time and i don;t have to do correction in Photoshop. I do correct sometimes. BUT you should shoot the photo with not having to worrying baout correction as most people don;t have that luxury. Most ofmy photos come out like the one attached. Keep taking the good advice in this string and keep expermenting!
  12. He did! As always people that don;t understand the work we do he had a hard time with the price. But it soaked in and hes happy.
  13. I haven't posted anything here in a while. Doesn't mean that I haven't been busy. I got a ton of stuff to sell and show. This is a Caiman Alligator watch band I made for a guy I work with. The original leather band that came with this guess watch was trashed. Hope fully this meaty sweetie will hold up to the task of abuse that he put the last one through. I'm takin it in tomorrow and he should be stoked. Enjoy! Travis Poole Bad Love Leather
  14. I use those rubber office thimbles you can get at Office Depot or any office supply. They're cheap and made out of a non marking rubber and they have those little gripper thingys on them. An added plus is when they get all grungy grom workin you can throw them away. I usually wear on on my thumb, index finger and one on my middle finger. Whats even cooler is when my gal gets pissy with me for grabbin her with them!!!
  15. Double Loop? Single Loop? Round? Whip Stich? Which one? Get the Leather Braiding book. Also, Tandy makes a good guide and its cheap and easy to follow.
  16. I mow my lawn in a suit similar to this. Mine is made out of hardened paydoh. Need less to say my neighbors love "Lawn Day"
