I just ordered some stuff from Gloria out of Arizona last week. 200 dollar minimum for wholesale prices but if you don't order that much, it's just a few more bucks tacked on to each item. Received it very quick. I called Springfield also and they said they were going to be carrying them but weren't quite ready yet. They said they would make a very public announcement when they do start selling them. Hope this helps. RW

Great design Clair. The stem wrapping around the bead and over the braid looks incredible. Contrast in colors between the tooled part and the dark brown is very appealing too.

Great job. Would wear those proudly.

Amazing, again. Interior is outstanding. RW

Very nice shop Elton. When we bought our house it had an 800sq.ft shop with it. I had it all planned out on how I would set it up. Then I started remodeling the house so now it's full of remodeling junk and my stamp bench and sewing machine are shoved off in a corner where I work. Only problem with a shop that nice is that you'll never see the house you bought. Congrats on a beautiful setup. RW

1500 views and everyone of them well earned. Great work as always. Thanks for everything you share, I often want to be a fly on the wall of your shop. RW

Very nice Andy. The tooling layout is wonderful, I like the no stem look everynow and then. Looks great with the border tool. Always liked the braid behind the horn, I know a lot of people that don't, but I think it looks great. Beautiful work. RW

I decided to make a friend a photo album for her wedding present. I asked what she wanted on thinking maybe fully tooled with their names and date, typical stuff. She said, the grooms cake is going to be pinstriped with skulls on it, you think you could do something like that? Uhhh, I think was my response but I tried it out and this is what I came up with. A little different for me but she liked it. Let me know what you think good or bad. Thanks, RW

Very cool idea and design. Would love to have that pattern laying around. I like the ten/six card added to it, good thought.

Look really good. I always had an issue with slobber straps not having enough room to do any tooling but I really like this, it's simple yet adds something to the straps. Good job.

belt and first sheridan attempt
wood replied to pino's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
I agree that Don King is the "king" of Sheridan style. But like Bruce said, it is an always evolving art. I made a belt once with a pattern that was chiseled into the granite around the top of the courthouse here in LaGrange. Was it a truely Sheridan pattern? I don't know but it flowed well and had some good, clean, tight turnbacks in it. -
It was in LaGrange. It was the 1st one they had put together but it is supposed to be an annual deal from now on. Most of the vendors had came down from from Fort Worth and I don't think they were that impressed due to the rain but we hadn't had any kind of moisture in a long time so we weren't going to complain. I had I good time but I only had to drive ten minutes to the show, not three hours like some of the guys. We'll see if it gets put on again next year. I believe there is supposed to be one in Seguin maybe next March?? It was scheduled for last September? but got canceled because one of the hurricanes was supposed to be coming through so they took a break and rescheduled for next year early to get out of hurricane season.

Here's a few of the things I made for a booth at a Cowboy Gathering they had around here a few months ago. A cold front with lots of rain blew in the day of the show so the turnout wasn't that great, but I made enough to pay back what the booth cost and I got to meet the great Don Edwards. Anyway, here are the pics: a notebook, belts, a guitar strap, a set of spur straps and a wallhanging I made for my shop I call "Ode to Al" because it's made of patterns out of his books except for the Texas outline which I thought just added the final touch. As always critique away. Hopefully I'll be able to get out in the shop a little more sometime but it's been 108 degrees in there for the past week. Guess I really need to look into an ac.

Monty has been around a while, I've seen him at shows around Texas. I worked with a guy that used to build saddles with him, we were always amazed at his work. I believe leather1214 used to work with him also. Excellent work, bout time he put up a website.

Simply amazing. I agree with putting it in at Wichita Falls. I like how your border stamp make even some of the flat lines look scalloped to match. The dye job is flawless. Great pics to match a great saddle.

I like the dye job, how it gets lighter around the point of interest. Good job.

Here is a tooled checkbook cover and a large Bible cover I did recently. I actually did this same checkbook cover with an antique finish which I liked better but I don't have any pictures of it. As always let me know what you think and what might be done for improvement. Thanks, Wood

I've been doing some buckaroo style straps here lately but these make me want to go cut out a pair of dovewings. Very nice work.

45 Bullet Concho on stirrup

Kathy, I did a yahoo search for Waylon Wike Saddles and the ad came up on ranchworld ads. It has a phone number and info to get a hold of him. -

Kathy, That saddle is owned by Waylon Wike. He's a saddle maker in Texas and that was his personal saddle and he's selling it now. I believe he or one of his friends made the conchos. I used to have an email for him, or you may can find his phone number on the web. Let me do some looking around. -
Thanks for the kind words. Lobo, I sent you a message, let me know if you got it. rhall, I fell off the deep end for this gun. I've been looking at getting a Cimmaron Thunderer, but after handling the 51 navy for a week or so, I have been seriously considering a navy conversion as a second gun. We'll see which one prevails at purchase time. Thanks again. Wood

I finally was able to get away from remodeling our "new" house and get out in the shop. My Father in law had a replica 1851 navy colt laying around so I snuck over and stole it and built him this for Christmas. It was the first holster I have built but it for sure won't be the last. It has it's mistakes but you learn from those and do it better on the next one right? Let me know what you think.

I think this is a great idea but you'll have to count me out on this round. I'm in an outage at work and we are working between 60 and 70 hours a week so I'm not home much to do my hobbie. Sorry to miss out but I'll catch the next round hopefully. Thanks and y'all make sure to post pics of what's being passed around. Later.

I used to visit a pinstriping forum a lot back when I was doing that and they would have "swaps" every now and then. They would set a date and everyone that would want to participate would have to be done with their work by that day and whoever was in charge of the thing would put everyones name into a bag and draw out two at a time. Those two artists would swap work by mailing to each other. It was pretty cool, you get to see different techniques used by others and it's also a great way to build a gallery of work from all over. It was easier over there of course because you could just say make a 12"x12" design and everyone was making the same thing. It maybe different over here because of the millions of different projects that could be made. Just a thought but your pay it forward idea is good too.
