  1. I have to agree with Bob, I recently got a versa groover, took awhile to convince myself to pay the $75 but it was the best $75 I ever spent, dont regret it for a minute
  2. Yeah, Im thinking I should have done more to the ground, other than the grass, some sorta matting or pebbling. Oh well live and learn.
  3. Thanks Art, I wasnt all that please with the way it came out, dyeing and antiquing usually makes everything stand out so much more, it seems to me to have washed out the tooling this time, maybe because it was so busy.
  4. Heres the finished seat
  5. That would be Paul Cox, Thats his makers mark anyway at the bottom, in the crotch area.
  6. Im getting ready to make a motorcycle seat with a suede inlay, question is what is the best to get, Ive never really worked with suede but I know its used on saddle seats and Im hoping you guys can steer me in the right direction as far as weight, etc. Rick
  7. Just wanted to show this as I go, this is a Jon Racimo drawing, he's the guy that draws the wonder woman comic book. Saw this and just had to give it a try
  8. Larrupin, I totally agreee with you, Ive seen guys on street corners that were better business men, I wouldnt buy Artisan if they knocked it down to $500 and hand delivered it. Just my 2 cents worth and thats about what their reputation will be worth if this is how they plan to opperate.

    Decent tools

Id have to second that as far as Bob Douglas awls and groover, since I got these I dont dread hand stitching the way I use to, and you might wanna check out Barry Kings website, his whole line is awesome. Rick
  10. Thanks Panther
  11. Thanks Tal, but there no buckstitching on this one, double loop and mexican round. You know bikers and skulls, and Im not all that crazy about grey either but it sure beats black.
  12. Thanks guys, Tom I used some leather balm and atom wax and I think it sealed it pretty good, Im not getting any ruboff with a moist cloth.
  13. Tiny, the tooled part is raised slightly, Ive got 1 inch neoprene on the seat and an additional 1/4 under the tooled leather, its not raised as much as the picture shows though, I just wanted to bring it up so you wouldnt notice it so much sitting on the lacing, Kate, I used an airbrush to spray tthe grey, then almost immediately used black antique paste and gave it a light wipe with a paper towel with some leather balm and atom wax to give the washed out effect.
  14. Tried to come up with something for a customer requesting black without dying the whole seat black, used black shrunken shoulder, but dyed the tooled part with fiebing grey, and did my best to come up with something to compliment the gunmetal grey and rust/copper color scheme of the bike. Let me get some opinions.
  15. He responded by email, gnarls, just explained why the delay in getting in touch, didnt really confirm the offer, I work offshore and wont be back till the weekend, cant really get a call out so I emailed and asked if the deal was legitimate and explained that I couldnt call, asked to please confirm, but just like the first time, three days and waiting for response, not really excited as I was, in fact I'm over the whole Artisan thing, I ran out and sold a brand new Tig welder the day after seeing the post so Id have the funds, what a mistake. I guess when something sounds to good to be true it usually isnt true.
  16. Dave finally got back with me and the reason he gave for the delay was totally understandable, what isnt is the fact that I tried to score one of these from day one after the post, and the people at artisan knew nothing about the offer, What id like to know is of all the people that bought up the existing stock, it seems like at least one is a member of this forum, would sure like to have one person say that this pricing was legitimate and not just talk, Id also like to know what they had to do to get it since like I said I tried almost daily from day one for a week and a half to no avail, quess its time to check out the Cobras

    Pebbler?

Same here, been waiting for the medium for 5 months and it arrived today, only problem when I ordered I made sure to order over ten to get qty discount, but three were backordered and when each arrived, seperately, they hit me for full price
  18. Eric, theyre looking good, was wondering what they hit you for that Adler? Rick
  19. Thanks Keith, sheepswool sounds like it will work, I was also thinking of trying to emboss it and use the embossing powder, just kickin around some ideas
  20. Got a question for you saddle pros, Im building a seat for a custom chopper with the name "Balls Out" Without giving away my idea, Im wondering what is used when making Bucking Rolls, I need something to form leather around in a semi sherical shape or two. But something with some give to it in case of sudden stop.
  21. Can anyone point me in a good direction to get a benchtop light/magnifier combo?
  22. Great looking forward to the pics
  23. Thanks guys. no Tiny, I thought the same thing at first I thought Id have problems with stretch since I make my seats pretty tight, but I had no problem with the bull shoulder.
  24. Just wanted to show you guys
