Can anyone give me a clue as to how to make a seat with skirting, I cover all my seats top and bottom and use a mexican round braid to lace them together, is the skirt stitched to the top or bottom before assembly? Or is it laced in with the connecting lace, I cant seem to find a picture that shows it clearly but I think if I can just get a basic assembly procedure I can figue out the details

Anyone ever used fiebings grey dye, im trying to find an alternative to customers requesting black on tooled seats, Im hoping with the grey and black antique paste and maybe just doing the border black it wont wash out the tooling like black, it kills me to spend hours tooling a seat and then having to dye it black. Is this a dark or light grey and can it be thinned to give different shades?

About how much lace, say 1/8, can be gotten from an average roo hide?

Any suggestions on best source to buy 3/16 & 1/4" kangaroo lace?

Is it not possible to buy from weaver leather without a tax #? Would really like to have a source for Hermann Oak Leather as well as some of the weaver line but I went to the website to request a catalog and it says wholesale only

Thanks guys, Ive been doing that mexican round braid on most of the seats i build so Im pretty quick with it, it was kinda tight on this but i bent the needle and drilled the holes to give be a little more clearance and it worked out pretty good, originally was gonna hand stitch this but it was kinda thick to be stabbing an awl through.

Hey Scott. come to think of it Tashabears right, I did spray this seat with light brown and then immediately after sprayed it with the cordovan, the seat is actually pretty close to what the picture is showing, dont really know why it came out so red, Ive used cordovan before and it wasnt nearly as red. And yes on the skull, its actually called a Sugar Skull. but it is from the day of the dead
