  1. Bruce, Have you tried this same method on somthing that curves one way and then back, say like on a roping breast collar.

  5. Im thinking flip flops go hand in hand with water, something that leathers do not necessarily do, especially salt water and you living on the coast, you may want to give some more thought to this

Really nice, Im dying to try some inlays but not real sure of how its done, everything ive learnrd so far ive taught myself from looking at you guys work and videos and books, cant find nothing on inlays though, wanna try stingray and croc inlays on cycle seats but dont know if this kinda thing can be done hand stitching.

Same problem here, after beating the shaft out of the handle and having the leather handle completely come apart in the process it kinda left me wondering how could I have been so stupid as to pay $100 for a maul and another 35 for a rawhide head just to end up with a trashed pile of junk. Goes to show just cuz something bears a respected name it can still be garbage. Wont make the mistake of buying stohlman brand products again.

  11. It was buckskin dye and I airbrushed medium brown around the edges and then antiqued with medium brown paste.
  12. Heres the back of the seat, I tried a little tweaking on the dye and it came out nicer than the front I think
  13. Thanks Ken, thats the one thing Ive not been able to get right, Im almost thinking its the pan causing it because of how much the lip turns under in the front, Im gonna try doing what you said though

I used the S631 craftool seeder for the background , and your right Tom it did come out darker than I intended, Im still learning as far as dyeing goes, but I just got an airbrush and plan to try more things, would love to get some Japanese flash, storm, where did you get it? Im gonna do another seat with "Old School" on it for a guy I know building an old school bobber, I im gonna put al "old school" traditional tattoo designs on it.
  15. Couldnt shake the urge to attempt a Koi seat after seeing Davids beautiful work, I used part of his design but he said he had no problem with it. Its just for my own enjoyment but Id also like to get some opinions from you guys

Sorry to hear about your friend Ian, Ive lost a few bros on bikes myself, It was a real honor to have someone I didnt even know ask me to make this seat, for his actual brother, he's in florida and I havent been able to show him the completed seat yet, I hope he's satisfied with it.   20. Someone told me you can use virgin olive oil as a finish on tooled leather, have any of you guys tried this? Is the finish look like Tan Kote. Rick
