Antique

I love the color on this holster also but I would not use the eco flo gels on a project like this. They are just too fragile for a heavy use item. I know there's debate on this, but I'll never use the stuff again. David -
Pete, I feel for you bud, my first project was a checkbook..... dried it out in an oven.... It looked like a potato chip! Wavy style. David

Leatheroo Tandy has a web site, they will ship anywhere. Dave

Exactly the way I do it too. Get the booklet from Tandy....... HOW TO LACE.... It's about $5. The diagrams are easy to follow. Dave Theobald

I've been into tattoo style art on leather for about 3 years now. I've done a few bike seats in the tattoo style. Unfortunately I'm in Ohio, not N Calif. Dave Theobald

Chuck, Wonderful work. Amazing as always. Have you ever considered doing a companion video to your holsters and sheaths on how to do beading? It is such great work, I have the books you suggest but I think they would be most helpful to someone who is already familiar with native american beading techniques. If you decide to make such a video, put me on your list as wanting one!! David Theobald a big fan!

LAROC The seats are done with a single strand. Look for the booklet at Tandy called How to Lace. The braid in question is called Mexican Round Braid or Basket Weave. Dave

That's a good first seat, and a lot better than my first one. I would recommend that you rivet the back to the pan first, then lace the front to it. On the lacing I would also suggest that you use round holes instead of slits. You'll find the holes are much less likely to tear out. The slits concentrate all the stress at the ends of each slit. The holes distribute the stress more evenly and reduce tear out. Other than those suggestions, good first seat. Dave

Sorry Dave, I'm not sure what to tell you. You may be stuck.... Wait a minute... Can you open your pics in Nikon View or Nikon Transfer? You may be able to change the format there. Dave
-
Did you download the Picasa for Mac? If so can you view your pics there? Dave
-
The format that photos are saved in is a setting on your camera. Check your manual. Dave.....Nikon user

Dave If you don't have PhotoShop just go to Google and download Picasa 3.... it is free and can reduce the size of your photos without changing the originals..... Then follow the Attach this file button below. Dave Theobald

Cowboy Holster Tutorial

Hey everyone, We had a great time in Indianapolis. The Indy guild is a great, hard working bunch of folks. The hotel staff was terrific. I took two seats to the show. The Tiger Eagle/Phoenix and my latest Dragon seat. I've copywrited the artwork so I won't have to look at someone absolutely murder the art ..... trying to copy it. Very discouraging when you to have it swiped and reproduced on someone else's bike seat and poorly done at that. Enough of that stuff. This year I decided to continue the series of dragon seats with dragon/koi II. My son and I took a first in the joint venture class. Unfortunately this will probably be our last joint venture, as my son has moved to Cleveland. It was really a great show. But most of all meeting a lot of new folks and renewing old friendships was great. Hope you all like the seat. Best to you all....I'll answer any questions. Dave
