Hi there! I know, it's been a while since i didn't post anything here, but, im back to leather working and i'm making on a leather pouch for a friend of mine Ok, let's get to the point. I've applied a thin layer of tandy's rubber cement (made by Barge) on the bakside of my pouch and stick it to a piece of thick (1/4") piece of plastic to avoid the stretching of my leather. Then, after tooling the piece, i remove the leather, but, the backside is still tacky and cover with cement. I dont want to line the piece and was wondering what can i do to remove the rubber cement? I dont have cement thinner and was seeking a way to remove this mess. Any comment will be appreciated! Glad to be here with you again Patrice

I've never seen something like it. Hey, a also sharp 2 of my fathers axes. http://www.speedysharp.net/ Just to tell you, once i've sharpened my strap end puch, it cut trough my 9oz belt with only ONE punch of my hammer Anyway, give it a try, you won't be dissapointed.

Well, being a part time leatherworker (read here hobby), i finished my item with neutral shoe paste and mink oil (paste), work for me.I polished with neutral polish, buff, then apply mink oil, and let it sit for about 2 hours. Then, i buff the whole thing with sheep wool then with a shoe bursh. Sure work well for me. Then, i try with light running water and then i see the water running off the surface But, i've heard of Montana Leather pitch. It seem pretty ggod. Does someone here already tried this stuff?Salut Richard. Je suis du Québec aussi! Bienvenue!(Hi Richard! I'm from Québec also. Welcome).

Here's a picture: It would be useful, as i love this lock. EDIT Befor you show me this sign I already did a search But, this is the only picture i'm getting. So, perhaps you could just giveme the right nam for this kind of lock, and i would do my own research

Hi everyone! Last week, while cleaning my workspace in the basement, much to my surprise, i discovered that my mixture of easy-carve and water was full of floating green and grey mold. Even the cloth that i always left in the mixture was inpregnated with mold. Does it happened to you? Man, i was furious. For me, this will be the last time i'll be buying that crap. I'll try to find an other seller of bee-natural pro-carve. Should i call my local Tandy and complain? I'm really angry

Hello all! I'm about to finish my leather x-mas presents, and by the past, i was not completly happy with the results with satin sheen, leather sheen, block out, tan kot ect. Each time i was using one of this product, it pick up a bit of my color or it was leaving some fine line (don't know how to call those lines). So, one day i was cleaning and polishing and waterproofing my boots, i just taught : hey, why i don't i give a try on my leathers goods with mink greasse. It just go well. First, i use neutral shoe polish 2 coats, then, i'm applying a thin layer of minl grease and let it sit for about 30 minutes to 2 hours. It's just work well! I then polish the item with a shoe brush and, voilà ! Did someone else use mink oil and neutral shoe polish? I,M curious and wanted to see if i'm the only one who's using this method. And, by the way, Merry Christmas to you and your familly!

I plug the whole kit and everything was working great! I choose this kit because the barrel is offering a thinner grip. The only downside is that i'll have to wait t'ill christmas beacause the kit is my gift P.s. The compressor is very quiet!

I order all my leather straps and belt blanks from Zacks White, and i'm living in Montreal Canada The leather used in their belts are very workable and without any scuff. They stamped and dyed well. And like Mike Phelps was saying, their straps have the smoothest backs I have ever seen. And i've never had any trouble dealing with them exepted once. They seem to have been short on personnal, and i've had to wait longer than usual. But, that's old story No later than this morning, i've order belts blanks, leather stips and some laces. After all, X-Mas is on it's way, and friends and family are asking me for some home made leather gift, what to say :angel_not: Next time i go on vacation in North Carolina, rest assure that i'll pay a visit to the store i'm ordering my belts blank.

Hi all! I have a piece of chrome tan leather and wanted to know if i can dye it another color? The original color is ligth brown and want to dyed it maybe dark brown, dark red or black. Using the new Tandy water color, would it be possible? Or should i use spirit dye by Fiebing's? I dont want to waste good leather, so i was asking first if someone here as already done it. Many thank's!
