  1. Good job, Bonnie! I really like that plane! Crystal
  2. Thank you, Greybeard and Schno! The bargrounder got used because it was the smallest thing I had. Not because I have any kind of design sense. Crystal
  3. Hi Scorpiorias. There is a Tandy Store in Delmont that offers some classes. They are on Route 22, east of Monroeville. 6518 Rt. 22, Ste. 438, Delmont, PA 15626 Salem Plaza. 724-468-5148 See what classes they offer, get your feet wet. You can browse through the store, take a look at some books, get a catalog. That would be a good place to start. Also from PA, Crystal
  4. Thanks, Bob! Yeah - I need some tiny tools...lol Crystal Hi Bill - This is from a book called "Florid Victorian Ornament" plate # 52. I found it on Amazon. I used it the same size as is from the book, but did do some editing. Crystal
  5. Thank you, All! I think I might have to try another now after getting so many nice comments! Just not sure it will be anything with celtic knots... The hardest part was the tracing. The knife work went really quick, tooling took a while just because my tools were too big to fit in the small spaces. Dually- This is my first flask, so I just kind of winged it. I left a little extra room on all of the outside edges, so I had some fudge space. I kept doing fittings and all went well until it dried, then I noticed some shrink. I dyed and then sewed while the leather was damp, that seemed to hold it pretty good. I didn't glue, just used some double stick tape on the seam line, then put on the finish coat. It fits really snug. I used an SK3 knife from Leather Wranglers with an 1/8" straight blade. Harvey- I guess I have to keep the hubby - this is the first thing I've done that he's actually liked. I don't know if it is because he likes it or if is because it is his. Thanks again, Everyone! Crystal

    I DO Exist!!

Isn't it great to be busy?! Glad to hear the classes are going well - I am envious, wish I could be there. Absolutely love that design!! That is just too cool! Crystal
  7. Thank you! What's next from that book? lol Crystal
  8. Thanks, Darryl! Yeah - was fun trying to follow the under/overs on the tracing! lol Kudos to those who do celtic knots - this might be my only one. I need better glasses. Crystal
  9. Thank you, Kate!
  10. Thanks, Clay! You didn't tell me you were wishing me good luck - that's what made all the difference. As usual my pics don't show the true color very well - it is a bit more "rusty" colored in real life. Jeff doesn't like a bunch of color, he wanted it plain, but I wanted to try out that Bee Natural Pecan. I won. Crystal
  11. Thank you, JOhan. I had to look up "Bliksem". Crystal
  12. Thanks, Brad! The book is "Florid Victorian Ornament" I found it on Amazon. Crystal
  13. Thanks, Freak! The pattern was from a book, I just modified it to fit and tool. Crystal
  14. Hi All - The hubby wanted a flask he had covered. I finally got around to it. I have got to learn how to take better pictures! Thanks for looking! Crystal
  15. Hi Brent - Do you have any stamping tools? A beveler and a backgrounder would work. I would swivel cut, use the beveler (beveled edge to the inside) and then just use the backgrounder in the entire area. Dye darker color. I don't know if I would cut the design out unless you were putting a liner on the backside. If you did that, then you could use the liner color as your accent color. I like that border stamp you used! Very nice. Crystal
  16. Happy Birthday, Tom! Hope you have a wonderful day! Crystal
  17. Skulls with ponytails and bows just make me smile! Great work! Love the candy, too! Crystal
  18. Happy Birthday, Holly! If I'd have known where you were having your birthday dinner, I'd have toasted you last night from my local Red Lobster! Crystal

    mini roses

Very pretty, Holly! I like that pink. Crystal
  20. Thank you very much! I understand, now. Rings and Skittles are also interesting looking games! Crystal
  21. I'd be interested in more information on this. When should you use a glass slicker? I understand that it helps to seal the top grain - how does this affect tooling? Crystal
  22. Thanks, Holly! Is it something that only one person plays, or is it something that multiple people can play? I thought this may look like an intersting leather box project, but am not sure now if there will be some kind of mechanics involved with the box shutting/not shutting. Crystal
  23. Hi Marlon, Nice notepad cover! I think you did an exceptionally nice job with the eyes - they look great! Crystal
  24. 'Tis the season with TONS of catalogs pouring in... One catalog has an interesting item called "Shut The Box Game". Description says " This classic English pub game is easy to learn and strangley addictive." Since I am always curious, but unwilling to spend $80 to see what it is about, can someone tell me a bit about the game? Thanks! Crystal
  25. Josh, you're getting really punnie! Love the belt keeper on this one. Crystal
