Welcome to the forum and congrats on your retirement.
  2. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  3. Thank you for your service! Welcome to the forum.
  4. You can try to lightly wet the leather from behind and allow it to settle in. Stamp it and some of it will remain, but as Tree Reaper says.......this type of letter will not keep the maker's stamp on the leather forever.
  5. Wow.....I collect swivel knives especially unique and vintage ones. If you come across any please keep me in mind. Good luck

  9. I bought mine from Tandy Leather.
  10. Nice work Andie......Welcome to the forum!
  11. I'm located in West Round Rock. I have a manual clicker.
  12. I have been using the John James needles for about 2 years now. I really like them and they last quite a long time. Longer than Tandy's.
  13. Randy welcome to the forum. Congrats on your pending retirement and new career. Make sure to post some pictures of your work to admire.
  14. Nice work you have there......Welcome to the forum!
  15. Search bar at the top right hand side. I am sure you will find plenty of threads.
  16. Sweet.....Brenda has made all of my maker stamps and just completed a coaster stamp.
  17. Once you get the angles on your blades.....a simple piece of 800 & 1200 wet/dry sandpaper glued to something flat work out great! If you read on line references regarding the different rouges you can find out what best fits your needs. I own all of the colors, but I mostly use the green bar from Leather Wranglers. I have a dedicated strop on my bench and in the garage, but like it was stated, you can use a simple business card or poster board. Good luck!
  18. It looks good. Hope it works out well for your type of leather work.
  19. If you have access to Facebook....you can go onto my page and scroll down where I shared a video made by one of my Japanese leathercrafters on how a feather is made. The ones that I have made is from 3-4oz veg-tan leather and skive the edges really thin. If you see the video it will make more sense. Good luck
  20. A design very similar to this model was once published in an early leathercraft magazine. I have the plans somewhere, but I felt that too many parts would cause too many issues. Just my opinion.
  21. New container? did you shake it very well before use? Sometimes when the particles sit for a while, they need to be mixed or they separate.
