  1. Send me a PM with some contact numbers and I will forward them for you, no charge! I haven't heard that it is off the market so I am guessing that it is still available. It is a well cared and maintained machine. Looks almost brand new to me. Just covered and sitting in the corner.
  2. That's it! Howard Johnsons. I heard just one complaint from a vendor last year about that hotel. Most if not all vendors and participants will probably stay there. My hotel you would not like. It is 3-4 blocks from the center and very, very quiet! Just the way I like it. It has a bar, restaurant and other amenities. Last year we were entertained at the bar......we were able to get together with a few other philanders of leather. We shared some stories and tricks! I hope to see as many of you forum brothers and sisters there! Just look for the 'Urban Cowboys' (in shorts and t-shirts).....we won't be hard to find in the sea of wranglers, boots and hats! Trust me.....Rawhide pick me out from one row over! Good luck
  3. Nice guitar strap. Your swivel knife cuts are a nice touch! Great work!
  4. If those don't work out. I've got a guild member who has one for sale with attachments, table and other accessories in MINT condition. He was speaking with another member on here about a deal, but I haven't heard that it sold......so let me know and I can put you two together! I seen the machine, I wish I had the funds...he moved up to an Alder machine and this one is just covered and waiting for a another owner. Good luck
  5. I was recommended to purchase HO from Stevenson Paxton in California. I purchased 5 sides of a lower grade for $99 a side and was extremely happy with each one! I haven't gone back since I had so much leather from them with the exception of a last minute order due to a large credit on the books......boy that was a joke! It will be back to Stevenson Paxton or Pan Handle since my recommendations listed them as second. Good luck
  6. That is really nice....something I need with doors since I work out of the master bedroom. That way the wife doesn't have to see the mess of shiny tools. Again, good work BM
  7. Scalpel blade or small wood carving tools. I found a set at Hobby Lobby for $5.99. I sharpened and stropped them and use them as hand held punches. I find my line and apply light pressure downward until it cuts through. The set comes in 6 different shapes/angles that are useful. Good luck
  8. Great improvements! Thanks LW staff.

  9. If not.....just stick your other shoulder out to make up the difference! Just kidding! Luke is right on!
  10. Welcome to the forum! Nice knife and sheath you have completed there. I would HIGHLY suggest that you try this dye and finish out on a piece of leather from that same hide you bought before you put it on this pretty thing. Remember let each dyeing job and coat dry for least 24 hours before starting on the next stage of your process. I haven't done one sheath to date, but I heard that Chuck Burrow's video on making such an item is highly advisable. Mr. Burrows is a member on this forum if you need information. Good luck and remember to report your progress! If you totally screw up your dyeing on the scrap of leather remember two things! You will not be the first one and it will not be your first time! Best wishes!
  11. No problem....they are in the proud hands of the new owner in Seattle, WA. All parties are happy,. I hope all is well on your end. Just FYI, I was looking for another picture that I scanned for another member on her a couple of weeks ago who was making a book cover.....I couldn't find that picture quickly so I didn't post it, but I am sure you can find the thread. I am getting ready to make my daughter a new binder cover before school starts; I may take progress pixs and post them here, but they will probably be on my blog (address below) for sure! Good luck
  12. I hope this helps. Good luck and please remember to post a picture or two.

    Hi Folks!

Welcome back and welcome to the forum!
  14. We stay at the Holiday Inn across the highway from the convention center? Some or most of the vendors stay at the holiday within walking distance from the center. I cannot remember the name off hand, but I am sure a couple of vendor here will speak up......if not, I can look it up and will know when I see the name. Since you are coming from north of our border. If you need anything or information that I can supply you here in Texas.....Just drop me an email and consider it done! Good luck
  15. Welcome to the site and I am glad you found your own standby!
  16. Welcome to the forum!
  17. Welcome to the site. Be careful out there on the border!
  18. I would just one thing to possibly consider.....do your changes in steps....there is plenty of evidence in society to shows you what happens when changes are dramatic. At least here in the USA. I would consider contracting some work out as a baby step. It worked for me in my previous employment.....as you said your inventory is almost depleted. Maybe someone to help you cut the leather or something else to assist you to at least stay above water with your money maker (inventory) stuff. At the same time, if you have $$ and space, I would consider maybe a solo building outside like a 2 car garage type set up where everything can be set up as your new shop 4 months down the road? that is good to hear that you are doing well.....The guy I use to clean my sewing machine; we just found out that he and his family are closing down their sew shop due to the economy. Good luck!
  19. I am going as usual and I believe that Allen (Big Papa Leather) will accompany me again. I have put out a ride invitation for Clay, but not sure what his plans are. There is another guild memeber that will be going as well. Hope to see you there! It should be too hard to miss us.......we'll be dressed in our usual 'Urban Cowboy' attire........................shorts and a t-shirt~ stop and say hello....see you there.
  20. Awesome stem flow on the binder by Edwards Saddle....looking for an apprentice?

      Macrdhu

      Agree, captivating

  21. Beautiful stem flow! Looks like a good design to try out.
  22. Top and bottom is 3/8" allowance sides is 5/8" left and right of the grooves is 1/4", but I would advise you to go up to 1"-2" for a hardback book. The 1/4" might be okay for the vinyl binder that they show, but I almost did not get the book into my first cover. I also damped the inside pockets and let the moisture set in before putting in the book (with protection). It caused it to create a channel for the cover. I have a picture of one of my latest covers around this computer somewhere. Let me look around and I will post it up. I know that I have it on my blog site...address below. Good luck
  23. Good luck
