Thanks Roo! I will probably work my way up to luminescent acrylics after I've gotten the hang of painting in general As far as airbrushing goes, I'm trying to find someone locally to kind of give me a hands on. I have access to an airbrush now, but I can't seem to get the hang of it. Thanks Timd, it's nice to be back.

I've finally found my shop again after about 8 months of avoiding it like the plague, and look what I made! The design was just a free-form doodle I made while explaining the mask making process to my 6th graders. I didn't want to use dye in the classroom because of the mess, so I ended up using metallic acrylics. This was the first time I had painted a mask and I am very pleased with how it came out.

It's been about a year since I made any masks, and here I am with two new designs. I've finished the wet forming on all three masks. I'm planning on painting tomorrow. Not entirely sure on colors at the moment. How do you guys like them so far?

It's been a while since I've posted anything, so here are the things I've made in the past few months. Enjoy! A clutch purse w/ a rose pattern. I actually sold it this past weekend at Celtic Classic A custom fit sword scabbard. A leather-wrapped tankard for my wife. A wallet using a modified grape leaf pattern from an old L&SJ A tankard with the customer's boyfriend's guild crest A matched set of sporrans.

Perhaps some sort of heat treatment? If you look at the edges, there almost appear to be scorch marks.

http://www.csmeja.com/pages/masks-downloads-leather-sculpting.html A good place to start. She's had several articles and videos out there about basic mask making.

Oooo, those ARE pretty! There should be some sort of gallery of all the mauls he's made

...and I got them today. They're great! I'm pretty excited about them. What do you think?

Alright, so I'm looking for an equivalent set of checked bevelers to the Craft Tool B198 and B701. The Tandy models keep bending on me and I'm tired of getting them replaced. I was hoping someone could direct me to somewhere that has something close to the angle and pattern that those two models have. Thanks so much! -Mike P.S. Please help! I have a lot to do and need new bevelers!!!

I should mention that these are my first "Big Boy" tools. I bought them using only proceeds from leather work sales, so these really mean a lot to me

After seeing everyone else's bearman mauls, I had to get my own These are 10 & 17oz in bloodwood. Ed tells me that the bloodwood will darken with use and become a deeper, richer red.
