Yup Coca-Cola works better than you would think. It;'s mild but effective. Also a vinegar/water solution would neutralize the rust.

Hi, I joined the community in late October and started leathercrafting a few weeks kater.

I clean with Saddle Soap bars shaved into water to make a cloudy water. Then condition after dying with Lexol. For conditioning I do light coats over several days depending on how supple I need the leather to be.
