  1. Just finished this tonight. The edges are done with uniters edge paint and the stitching is Yue Fung waxed linen thread and k s blade punches 3.38mm. Can't really see it in the photos but there is a section for bills as well as the 4 card pockets.
  2. Had a go at designing a business / credit card wallet, yellow one is veg tan the other which is the design I prefer with the extra slot on the back is horween Dublin.
  3. I'll have a look on etsy, got to be less postage than $29 I'm in no rush now though as I bought 4 and at the rate I work I'm good for a very long time
  4. The ones I ordered arrived a couple of days ago they are good quality. like you all I have to do now is work out what I'm going to make now. I need to finish the one I'm currently busy with first though.
  5. I'll ask them next time I'm there as call in every 2-3 weeks
  6. It was $29 shipping to the UK.
  7. False alarm I've managed to get it to work so order is now placed Thanks for the info I've now placed an order
  8. Hi That is exactly what I want and I am trying to place an order now but the checkout will not accept my UK postcode it keeps saying there is an error
  9. They are used by someone called norncahnleatherworks on etsy love how they look. I've also searched all over for them and not had any luck finding them yet. Just ordered some horween Dublin to make myself a bag and I'd love to use a closure like this for it.
  10. Anyone know where I can find a lever closure like the one in the picture? Or what would you call this type of closure so I can try to search for one. Thanks.
  11. I didn't use a brogue punch just a couple of cheap hole punches from e-bay. I made a template out of card and punched the holes in that first then used that to mark where to punch the leather.
  12. The horween I have is a veg tan and it is quite soft and like you I have had to apply less tension whilst stitching. I also learned quite quickly not to apply as much pressure when applying my makers mark. I almost went all the way through on my first attempt, so that wallet ended up being yet another wallet for me
  13. Yes I struggle with the corners, I’m better than I was but still lots of room for improvement, need more practice.
  14. Well I've eventually got round to buying some horween leather (1.4mm) and made this simple card wallet to try it out. I'm impressed with how easy this leather is to work with I look forward to making some more ambitious items. I'm also thinking of getting some thicker horween to make myself a bag.
  15. Thanks for your kind comments always good to receive those from fellow leatherworkers. please post yours as well it's looking at others work that inspires and I'm sure others.
  16. I made these items a few weeks ago as I was going to my god daughters wedding. I was wearing a blue suit with tan brogues so thought it would be a fun project to make some matching accessories. Even though I was happy with the original wallet I made I then decided to try to do one to better match my brouge shoes.
  17. Thanks, the blue is feibings royal blue and I applied it with a cloth.
  18. A friend asked for a blue and orange card wallet so I did a selection for her to choose from. I used some giardini edge paint on a couple of them the other was a more traditional burnished edge. I'm very new to using edge paint so I'm not too great but I'm slowly getting better.
  19. My latest wallet almost finished. Trying out some new leather from AA Crack (1.4mm maddison) stitched with Amy Roke 3mm and Yue Fung poly cord thread (.45mm )
  20. It's Horween Dublin Double Horse Front http://www.aacrack.co.uk/horween-dublin-dhf-natual-14-16.html
  21. Its the Amazon Basics Photo Studio, here are a couple of links to youtube videos which show it in action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hquUGEMdxWc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0KDyOM8kHk
  22. I received my first Horween leather yesterday from A A Crack so I had to quickly try it out. I am very impressed with the quality and with how easy it was to work with. Almost all of my previous work has been done with veg tan that I have dyed myself so it was a refreshing change to just pick up some leather cut it out and stitch. I’m worried though that I already thinking I need more Any tips on finishing horween does your final product need any conditioning etc? Normally I would finish my other veg tan products with resoline or carnauba cream or just some leather conditioner such as sedgwicks.
  23. I recently got a new toy so I thought I’d share a few shots with my new light box. First impressions are very positive it is working great; it has built in LED’s so no more setting up light tent and lights on stands etc. It only takes a few seconds to set up and apart from applying a custom colour profile in lightroom these photos have been cropped and nothing else.
