It sounds like around this area. I live near Branson Mo and most things for sale around here are aimed at the tourists. There are quilt stores and quilt stands all over town that advertise hand-made or hand crafted quilts. It's really a joke how bad they are, maybe 3 stitches per inch. I've never made a quilt in my life and could make a better one. Of course I do see alot of them made since my wife sews them all night long after she gets home from work. The funny thing is they sell like crazy, I guess it's in the eyes of the beholder. I guess in all fairness they are hand-sewn just poorly done and also there is one store that does sell nice quilts.

The seat looks killer. It may be a shame to cover the tooling in black but I have to agree with outcast, it really fits in well with the paint.

Bob I'd say your a pretty good salesman because you make me want a rope can and I don't even own a rope, your stuff looks that good. Seriously though the list you made is great idea espescially for knowing the cost, I always forget about the waste.

Great job, that's awsome. I had to look for a little bit to figure out what was leather.

Wow you and your wife are set up, very nice work.

It looks great. Did you sew through the stingray or mount it to something else to sew in place. The reason I ask is I heard its super hard stuff. -
I'm sorry Broadway I was so busy looking at everyones stuff I didn't see your post. First off thank you very much for your comments, its always nice to hear kind words. No it's a pool cue case but living here on the lake I might be better off building fly rod cases . Rusty Ps I'll put the first pic back up full size, I down sized it to be my avitar.

Very nice work, I'm amazed at what can be done on leather.

I didn't know we could donate, but now I do. And did.
-
Cool case. Is that a small storage area under the lid?
-
I just bought a elephant trunk from springfield leather also. But be prepared to spend some cash. The piece I bought was 130 bucks but is enough to build a couple of large items. They had quite a few to chose from.
-
Dang that's good. Are those painted or dyed?

Thanks guys for the nice words. I thought it turned out nice. It's a little more streamline without the pockets. I change the handle up a bit also. Instead of a flat piece of leather I sewed a piece of leather around another piece of leather. It fits in the hand better and I think it looks better. The color was fiebings tan mixed with a little Lt. brown. Thanks Rayban, scottishshoemaker,SteveBrambley, celticleather and Tina for your nice comments, they are really appreciated.

My wife has been wanting me to make her a purse and we've had a tough time finding a pattern too. I've been thinking about taking apart one of her old purses and using it for the pattern. I'm not to sure how well it will work but I think I'm going to give it a try.

I almost forgot the picture of the interior. Also feel free to post all likes and dislikes, I've got pretty thick skin.

Hi all, I thought I'd show the last pool cue case I've been working on. Thanks for looking.
-
John I didn't like the handles much either. I'm going to post a case in the show off section with a little different handle, but please don't let it stop you from showing me your idea also. I'm always looking for ideas.

Thanks Tom, great picture. Leather wizard, I like the sound of that.

Hi John, I see on the link to the makers website you provided that it does claim that each case is hand tooled. In another sentence it says the cases are beautifully carved and decorated with hand tooled art. That is in a section on the page that says gallery review, so I don't know if the maker is saying this or who. Is this the makers site or the distributors site? Or maybe somewhere on the cases there is some hand tooling and carving in addition to the embossed area. I would be willing to bet if you put one your carved cases and one of the competitors embossed cases in the hands of the person who questioned your pricing and the questions would float away like smoke in a wind storm. No comparison.

That's really nice. Did you make your own pattern? I'd like to try to make one for my wife. -
Welcome, you'll love it here. If you look on youtube there are some videos on leatherworking there. Rusty

Really nice, I heard the stingray is hard to work with. Is it sewn into place and what do you cut it with? Rusty
