  1. I need a few of these for a project. Wondering if someone knew a source for them or alternative.
  2. I wish I could offer some advice to help you, but I too am in the same boat most of the time. The most stressful part is when it is time to apply the color and finish. One false move and BAM, it is ruined. I am the same way with charging for my projects as you. I charge what I think is fair to me and low enough it might sell. I do mostly custom work, so an estimate is given up front. It mostly works out. I didn't get into this to make money, it just happened. I still have to pinch myself at times to think someone wants to buy what I do. Quick question. What tool was used to do the background around your leaves? Again nice clean work you did there.
  3. Nice work, and welcome.
  4. Rotary machines are widely used by professionals now, but they have their pros and cons.
  5. Never used a rotary, all mine a coil type machines. Looks like some are throwing some color on Youtube , but it looks faded out, not solid.
  6. LOL. Yeah tattooing yourself is not real fun. Well my interest was peeked so I went and watched some Tube videos, and it seems there are some talented people doing some nice work. How they keep the ink from smearing up the work I don't know. Also most appear to be using tattoo ink. Now I got to try it. My machines have been gathering dust for years, now I have an excuse to dig them out, lol.
  7. Interesting. I have tattoo machines, and have wondered if this would work. What tubes and what size needles did you use?
  8. Beautiful work. How was the outside border accomplished?
  9. I tried some lime juice first. It is slowly disappearing after second application. Hopefully one more time will do it. Thanks for the help guys.
  10. Thanks for the reply. I will try that.
  11. Thanks for the reply. What you say makes sense. Are you saying put lemon juice on the spot?
  12. Has anyone else had blue spots appear on veg tanned leather after casing? They seem to appear randomly. I had a piece that i did recently that did not have spots after I cased it the first time. I had to recase the piece because it dried out some and a spot appeared. This isn't the first time this has happened to me. i am just using distilled water for casing. I did switch brands and same difference. It looks like a blue dot from a ball point pen. Some are bigger than others at times. I wouldn't complain, but the piece I am currently working on is going to be natural not dyed.
  13. Just curious how you went about making the circles?
